Grief is at the center of the narrative as Grimes-Beech, who plays the role of Carly, a woman grieving her late mother during the holiday season that is often filled with joy and togetherness attempts to combat her feelings of loneliness by taking a temporary job as the leader of a small-town church choir’s Christmas program. Along the way, she encounters Matthew (Carmack), who is returning home after serving in the Army and might just turn out to be the saving grace she needed for this holiday season.

Inspired By Shelton’s Holiday Song, “Time For Me To Come Home For Christmas”
This marks the sixth installment of the popular movie franchise that’s based on the book, Time for Me to Come Home for Christmas, written by the “God’s Country” singer’s mom, Dorothy Shackleford, and Travis Thrasher, as well as Shelton’s original holiday tune of the same name that features vocals by Shackleford and appears on his 2012 holiday record, Cheers, It’s Christmas.
The first movie was unveiled in 2018 and then proceeded by Time for You to Come Home for Christmas (2019), Time for Us to Come Home for Christmas (2020), Time for Them to Come Home for Christmas (2021), Time for Him To Come Home For Christmas (2022) and this year, Time for Her to Come Home for Christmas.
With each of these movies, Shelton sees his song come to life in a new way as each plot features a different storyline that finds a way to connect back to the tune’s history.
“Time for Her to Come Home for Christmas” is from A Time Road VI and Front Street Pictures Production. Orly Adelson, Michael Shepard, Allen Lewis, Blake Shelton, Dorothy Shackleford and Harvey Kahn are executive producers. The movie is produced by Charles Cooper. Ali Liebert directed from a script by Marcy Holland based on Shackleford and Thrasher’s novel.
Rising Star Grace Leer Also Co-Stars In The Film

Blake Shelton isn’t the only country star who had a hand in bringing this film to life. Rising singer/songwriter Grace Leer also makes her acting debut in the movie. In addition to co-starring in the film, her original song “Star On Top Of The Tree,” is prominently featured in the beginning of the film. Co-penned with JoyBeth Taylor and Dan Agee, the upbeat anthem was released on October 27, and delivers a heavy dose of merriment as she reminds listeners that Christmas is best when celebrated alongside “family and friends”
“Acting has always been something I’ve wanted to pursue outside of music and the fact that my first acting gig is a Hallmark Christmas movie feels like a dream,” Leer shared in a statement via press release. “I am so grateful for the opportunity and to the entire Hallmark team who were so supportive and encouraging to me as a first time on screen actor.”
She continues, “It was an incredible experience and I learned so much acting alongside Chris and Shenae as well as my director Ali Liebert. This movie is exactly what Christmas is about and I cannot wait for fans to see it!”
