Ingrid Andress had the internet buzzing with her off-key performance of the national anthem at the 2024 Home Run Derby during MLB All-Star Week.
Andress, 32, took to the center of Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas on Monday evening (July 15) to deliver an acapella rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

Donning a special MLB jersey, the four-time GRAMMY nominee delivered an off-key performance that had players, attendees, and viewers scratching their heads. Alec Bohm of the Philadelphia Phillies could be seen laughing during the performance, while other players appeared to be holding back smiles and laughter.
Following the opening ceremonies of the 2024 Home Run Derby, Ingrid Andress began to trend worldwide on social media as many users criticized her performance.
A slew of social media users deemed this performance the “worst national anthem performance in American history.”
“Just when I thought nothing could unite this country, America comes together to dunk on — and I say this as politely and objectively as possible — the worst national anthem performance of all time,” one X user wrote.
Another shared, “It is impressive that this Ingrid Andress has missed every single note. That was painful.”

Others likened Andress’ rendition of the national anthem to Fergie’s 2018 performance at the NBA All-Star weekend and Rosanne Barr’s infamous 1990 “The Star-Spangled Banner” at the San Diego Padres game.
Andress has yet to address the situation.
Known for songs like “More Hearts Than Mine,” “Lady Like,” and “Wishful Drinking” with Sam Hunt. She has released two albums, Lady Like, which dropped in 2020, and Good Person, which arrived in 2022.
She’s opened up for artists such as Keith Urban, Walker Hayes, and Kelsea Ballerini.
On July 24, Andress is slated to release a brand-new single. She recently took to social media to announce the news.
“Greetings to everyone that has a pulse. I truly love you all so much. I’ve been absent for a minute, but I’m so stoked to announce that my new single “Colorado 9” comes out on July 24th,” she wrote.
It’s unknown if the upcoming release is part of a larger project at this time.
Her next appearance is scheduled for Wednesday, July 17 in Nashville at Row One.
