It’s no secret that Jake Hoot isn’t the only talented vocalist in his family.

The Voice Season 17 winner recently wed Brittney Hoyt, who he met several years ago when they both appeared as wedding singers at a mutual friend’s wedding. Fast forward a few years, they reconnected, fell in love, got engaged and then officially tied the knot on March 7, 2021.

Brittney previously sang background vocals on Hoot’s track “Nadine,” and according to Jake, she will also contribute to his forthcoming album.

During a recent appearance on Connect with Country Now, airing on CTRL_MUSIC_, exclusively on Twitch, Hoot opened up about Brittney’s talents, and revealed that she will take part on his forthcoming album.

“We played a show at Ole Red in Tishomingo and two in Texas and at every show people were requesting Brittney to get up and sing,” Jake explained. “And I said, ‘Honey, I don’t know that you are ready for all of this.’ So the last two shows I made her get up and sing songs with me.”

While he did not specify exactly what part Brittney, who works as a labor and delivery nurse, will play on the album, he promised she will have a role on the project.

“She is such a powerhouse that she is definitely gonna be part of the album,” he shared.

Jake Hoot recently released his debut EP, Love Out Of Time. The five-song project finds the rising country singer teaming up with an impressive lineup of musicians and songwriters, including Dean Sams (Lonestar), Myrick, Jenne Fleenor (CMA Award-winning musician), Dave Pahanish (Keith Urban, Tim McGraw, Toby Keith), Jamie Floyd (Ingrid Andress, Lucie Silvas, Ashley Monroe) and more.

Love Out Of Time also features “I Would’ve Loved You,” Hoot’s emotional duet with his former The Voice coach, Kelly Clarkson. Hoot is still blown away by the opportunity to work with the superstar.

“Kelly, when I was on the show, said, ‘let’s work together on some project.’ And you know, a lot people make those promises or what not and they mean well but, Kelly actually backs it up,” Hoot said. “And having her sing the way that she sings on it is just incredible.”
