Jason Aldean penned a touching tribute to his daughter, Kendyl, in honor of her 17th birthday.

The Instagram post featured a carousel of photos, starting with a recent image of Aldean, his daughter and wife Brittany at her birthday celebration, followed by a slew of photos taken throughout the teen’s childhood that document special moments they have shared together.

In the caption, the “Let Your Boys Be Country” singer pours his heart out while reflecting on how fast life goes by, especially as a parent watching his child grow up.

“As parents we spend all the young years runnin and gunnin, just trying to keep up and raise good humans. One day you wake up and they are almost grown and you realize you did pretty good at this dad thing. I can’t believe it’s been 17 years since you came in the world,” he wrote.

Aldean continued gushing about his little girl, letting her know that it has been “such a joy” to watch her become the person she is today.

“You have been such a joy for all of us watching you grow up and seeing what kind of person you are. I’m so proud of you and all you stand for. I love u so much and hope u have the best day. Happy bday Kendyl ! 🎉 🎊 🎈”

Kendyl took to the comment section on the post with the same heartfelt sentiment as she said, “i love you so much dad, you’re the best. ❤️”

Brittany also took to her own Instagram story to extend her love to the growing teen as well. Alongside a photo of just her and Kendyl with a “Happy 17th Birthday Kendyl” balloon behind them, she wrote, “Happy birthday to the sweetest, most amazing bonus kiddo I could ask for. Love you, Kendyl.”

Jason Aldean shares two daughters with his first wife, Jessica Ussery, including Kendyl, 17, and Keely, 21. Aldean and Ussery officially divorced in 2013. He then tied the knot with Brittany in 2015 and together, they now share two children, son Memphis, 6, and daughter Navy, 5.
