Jordan Davis is set to co-host the 17th ACM Honors for the very first time alongside Carly Pearce, who will be returning for her fourth consecutive year as host. During the ASCAP-hosted No. 1 party celebrating his hit “Tucson Too Late,” Davis revealed how he’s preparing for his upcoming appearance at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium on Wednesday, August 21.

The pair of co-hosts recently got the chance to discuss their upcoming duties during a show in Florida, where Davis said he picked Pearce’s brain about the gig and likely received some helpful advice.

“Carly was at the show last night with us in Orlando. So it was cool to get to pick her brain about it. But Carly does such a good job on this ACM honors and has been for so long,” he told Country Now and other outlets. “I got to kind of talk with her about it, but I am such a fan of Carly and she does a great job of that.”

Channeling Luke Bryan’s Humor

On top of trying to match the standard Pearce has set over the last few years, Davis is also looking to bring the lively energy of his “Buy Dirt” duet partner, Luke Bryan, who has hosted a variety of major industry events over the years and always has plenty of jokes in his back pocket.

“If I could bring a little bit of humor like Luke does, that would be… I’m not good at writing jokes. Maybe I should get Luke to write a few jokes. Actually, maybe I shouldn’t get Luke to write jokes,” he added with a laugh.

Davis Is “Honored” To Celebrate Musical Icon, Alan Jackson

Throughout the star-studded evening, the Academy of Country Music will present the winners of the ACM Special Awards, Songwriter & Artist-Songwriter of the Year Awards, Industry Awards, and Studio Recording Awards. Among those being honored are country music hitmakers like Lainey Wilson, Alan Jackson, Luke Bryan, Trisha Yearwood and more.

Jordan Davis went on to express how much he is looking forward to being surrounded by his peers for a night of live music and tributes. He is especially honored to be celebrating this year’s ACM Poet’s Award winner, Alan Jackson.

This award is presented to a Country Music songwriter for outstanding and longstanding musical and/or lyrical contributions throughout their career, with special consideration given to a song or songs’ impact on the culture of Country Music. Jackson has more than lived up to these requirements as he is a 20-time ACM Award winner, a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame, an inductee to the Songwriters Hall of Fame, and one of the most successful singer-songwriters in music to date. Throughout his career so far, Jackson has sold nearly 60 million albums worldwide and has charted 50 top-ten hits and 35 No. 1s.

On top of all of his achievements, Jackson has acted as a great role model for the artists who have come after him, like Jordan Davis.

I don’t think you can find a writer in town that wasn’t influenced by Alan Jackson,” Davis shared. “He takes songs like ‘Chattahoochee,’ which should be probably one of the sillier songs you ever hear and it is just an absolute classic. I feel like Alan Jackson was one of the only ones that could do that and then still be able to rip your heart out with songs like ‘Remember When.’ I mean truly a legend and country music. So just to know that I’m a part of a night that honors him is pretty huge.”
