Jelly Roll dedicated a recent performance of his unreleased song, “Winning Streak,” to a fan celebrating seven years of sobriety.
In a new video on the Antioch native’s TikTok, he was seen pointing to a specific fan in the front row of his live show after taking notice of the heartfelt words written on his cardboard sign.
The fan who was sporting a Jelly Roll T-shirt held the sign up higher as the camera panned to him. The text read, “From: Columbus, Ohio. 7 years SOBER #wedorecover!! Shoutout to Jelly Roll!!” The end of the note included a hand drawn heart above the words “God reached way down in the bottom.”

Jelly Roll paused his show, walked over to the man and congratulated him on his incredible accomplishment. While speaking to the crowd, he explained that seeing stories like this unfold at his shows is a big reason why he appeared at the hearing of the Senate Banking Housing and Urban Affairs Committee in Washington, D.C. on January 11 and delivered a powerful testimony in support of U.S. Senator Sherron Brown’s bipartisan Fentanyl Eradication and Narcotics Deterrence (FEND) Off Fentanyl Act.
“Those are the kind of signs and the kind of stories that inspire me, and that’s the reason that I went down to Washington, DC and I addressed the United States sentence about the fentanyl epidemic in the United States of America.”
He continued, “I promise you, as long as God gives me this stage, I will always speak for those who are not spoken for. I will always be a voice of the voiceless. I will always be a representative of the underdog in the, I promise you, baby, I’ll never let us down.”
The “Save Me” singer then announced he would dedicating his next performance of “Winning Streak” to the fan, in honor of his incredible milestone.
“I wasn’t going to sing this song, but I saw that sign, and I’m going to dedicate this to you, this song called ‘Winning Streak.’ It’s about a man experiencing his first day sober.”
He also recently performed this song as well as his recent release, “Liar,” during his appearance as the musical guest for the 50th season premiere of “Saturday Night Live.” A choir of vocalists and instrumentalists surrounded Jelly Roll as he belted out the mid-tempo tune that chronicles the challenges one faces while attempting to overcome addiction by attending an Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meeting.
“And I’ve been losing myself/I’ve been losing my mind/And I’ve been standing in the rain just trying to stay dry/ I was so ashamed/ To be in this seat/ Till I met a man who was 20 years clean/ He said, ‘everybody here has felt the same defeat’/Nobody walks through these doors on a winning streak,” he sings on the chorus.
Both songs are set to appear on Jelly Roll’s new Beautifully Broken album, dropping October 11. This project is expected to deliver themes of resilience and honesty, all while paying tribute to real-life experiences Jelly Roll’s had throughout his journey in life that’s led him to this point.
“I think that we’re all a little broken, but I think that it’s finding beauty in that. We used Kintsugi for the idea that they do in Japan that if something is worth saving when it breaks that they bring it back together with gold and they polish it. That’s kind of out message man, everybody’s worth saving,” he said during a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
With the release date just a few days away, Jelly Roll unveiled the album’s official track list, which features several collaborations with artists outside of the country genre – Machine Gun Kelly, Ilsey and Wiz Khalifa.
The singer is currently on his 2024 Beautifully Broken Tour with stops in arenas across the US. He is be joined by special guests Warren Zeiders and Alexandra Kay, ERNEST, Shaboozey, and Allie Colleen as support on select dates.
