Reba McEntire has been busier than ever with her work on The Voice, filming her new sitcom, Happy’s Place and building out her next album. But the best part of it all is that she has her boyfriend of almost five years, Rex Linn, by her side.
The couple has been lucky enough to work together on a number of projects, including TV shows like Big Sky and Young Sheldon, and soon they will appear on-screen together once again for Happy’s Place, which premieres Friday, October 18, at 8 pm on NBC.
The Chemistry Is Strong Both On And Off The Screen
According to the “Fancy” singer, the reason their “dynamic” works so well both on and off-screen is because at their core, they truly are best friends who share the same likes and dislikes when it comes to food, their lifestyle and working in the entertainment business.
“I have his back, and he has mine. That’s very important. I feel very safe with Rex,” she told US Weekly when asked about the key to maintaining such a happy and healthy relationship.
McEntire added that despite all the fun they have together on set, they both take their work very seriously.
“We get real serious about rehearsals and we know our dialogue for sure. To have fun and be comfortable with dialogue, you’ve got to know it. We work hard on that.”
Bringing The Best Out Of Each Other
At the end of the day, the Oklahoma native believes that she and Linn bring out the best in each other and have helping one another grow into better versions of themselves.
“I think we have made each other better. Rex brings out the little girl in me and I have fun. I’m dorky, I’m goofy. He is too. We love to laugh, and we love each other. We both love watching television. We’re always on the lookout for a new series or movie to watch. He says that it’s his homework, watching other actors and learning from them. I do it for pure enjoyment.”
When it comes to marriage, Reba McEntire says she is “fine” with how things are going right now but is open to having the conversation one day if Linn finds that it’s something that he wants.
“It really makes no difference to me…I love our relationship 100 percent.”
McEntire Is Very Content With Her Current Chapter Of Life
McEntire expressed how truly “grateful” she is feeling for everything she has in her life at the moment, including her thriving career and good health among her and her family. “What more could I ask for?” She gushed, later adding, “I’m having the time of my life,” she stated.
In March of 2025, McEntire will turn 70 years old. As this milestone birthday approaches, she took a moment to reflect on everything that she’s most looking forward to.
“In the next decade, I hope I’m doing what I’m doing now. Having fun, loving my work, loving my days off from work, which recently haven’t been very many,” she joked. “Spending time with my family and my friends. Wow. If it can get any better, I can’t wait to see it.”
Fans can currently catch Reba McEntire on The Voice every Monday and Tuesday night on ABC and in a few short weeks, she will make her debut on Happy’s Place on NBC. Plus, she teased that her next album is in the works and will be “full of great songs.”
