On Wednesday, Oct. 9, Morgan Wallen paid an unexpected visit to West Town mall in Knoxville, TN, where Second harvest and the Morgan Wallen Foundation organized a food and water drive for Hurricane Helene victims as part of their joint “HELP” campaign.
The East native showed up to see cars lined up from as far as from Indiana to pitch in donate supplies and he also brought a few of his friends – This Past Weekend podcast host and comedian, Theo Von, and Tony Vitello, head coach of the National Champion University of Tennessee baseball team. Wallen’s parents were also on site to show their support for their hometown.
“I’m extremely proud of Morgan. I’m very proud of his heart that he cares about people and wants to give back. So very very proud of that,” his mom, Lesli, said in an interview.

While on-site, Morgan Wallen took the time to meet with members of the hurricane relief team in East Tennessee, snap photos with fans, and hear from several members of the community who have been directly impacted by the devastation.
“We get to give back all over the place, but from the day that we started, I always wanted to take care of my home so it’s cool to get to see some of this take place now,” Wallen told WIVK 107.7.
Wallen then took a drive through the Greeneville community where he stopped to thank first responders and met with several of the victims who experienced true devastation as a result of the floods.

He was even asked to write his favorite bible verse on the studs of one of the homes in the process of repair. The singer chose PSALM 40:2, which reads, “He brought me up from a desolate pit, out of the muddy clay, and set my feet on a rock, making my steps secure.”

Later that afternoon, the Mayor of Greene County TN, Kevin Morrison presented Wallen with a Greene County medallion as a way to show their gratitude towards his generosity in wake of the recent storms.
“We are very happy and proud that you’re here to help us restore some of that confidence. So on behalf of 74,000 people that I represent…this is a medallion that we’d like for you to proudly display,” said Morrison. “a small toke of our affection and love for you coming here and seeing our people and giving them a boost of confidence.”
Thanks to the efforts of Second harvest and the Morgan Wallen Foundation, according to Second Harvest of East Tennessee’s Senior Manager of Engagement and Marketing, Michael Torano, six trucks were filled with 143,423 lbs of food donated. Additionally, the “HELP” campaign’s online food drive has already led to over 100,000 meals, and is still open to donations HERE. This is all on top of the $500,000 Wallen donated to the American Red Cross to assist victims in East Tennessee affected by Hurricane Helene.
Those looking for other ways to get involved can purchase a limited-edition “HELP” t-shirt. Inspired by Wallen’s six-week Billboard Hot 100 hit with Post Malone “I Had Some Help,” this unique piece of merch features the word “HELP” written in large letters across the front and the Morgan Wallen Foundation in the front accompanied by text that reads, “hurricane relief TN & NC.”
