Jelly Roll has climbed to the top of country radio charts this week with his hit song, “Halfway to Hell.” This feat marks his fifth consecutive No.1 and fourth at Country radio via Stoney Creek Records.
The fan-favorite track officially impacted airwaves on January 22, 2024, and was named most-added upon its debut, earning a whopping 92 first-week adds on stations around the country.
Written by Jelly Roll with Jesse Frasure, Matt Jenkins, and Jessie Jo Dillon, “Halfway To Hell” appears as the leading track to the Antioch, TN native’s debut country record, Whitsitt Chapel, which arrived in June of 2023. The song finds the “Save Me” singer delivering an autobiographical look into his rise from prison to fame as a country artist.
The chorus serves as an insight to his thoughts as he battles right from wrong, “Halfway to Heaven or halfway to hell/ My angels and demons at war with myself/ One foot in the fire and I still can’t tell/ Am I halfway to Heaven/ Halfway to Heaven or hell?”
