Jessie James Decker is set to make her feature film debut in Karen Kingsbury’s The Christmas Ring, hitting theaters on November 6.
This marks Decker’s first major acting role, where she stars alongside her good friend Jana Kramer, as well as Kelsey Grammer, Debbie Winans, and Benjamin Hollingsworth.

During the red carpet premiere of the film, Decker spoke with Country Now about the opportunity to audition for the role, and revealed that Kramer actually played a part in helping her land the audition.
“Well, I’ve always been interested in acting. It’s something I’ve never done before, and Jana is one of my best friends and she asked if I wanted to try out or an audition to play one of her best friends, and so I did it and I got the part and I loved every bit of it,” Decker revealed.
Already an accomplished singer, songwriter, entrepreneur and mother of four, Decker admitted she caught the acting bug and hopes to continue to explore this side of her career.
“I really did enjoy it and I hope to do more. It’s definitely an itch I want to scratch now. I never knew I would love it as much as I do, but I really enjoyed it,” she told us.

Decker attended the premiere alongside her husband, Eric Decker, and their three eldest children, Vivianne, Forrest, and Eric Jr., marking the family’s first time seeing her on the big screen.
During the event, Decker joined her co-stars on stage and shared her gratitude for the experience, saying, “This is my first time ever being in a movie and you’ve spoiled me. I didn’t know what to expect. It was such a beautiful experience.”
The film is based on the No. 1 New York Times bestseller by author and filmmaker Karen Kingsbury.
The Christmas Ring follows Vanessa (Kramer), a military widow who is on a quest to find her family’s long-lost heirloom ring, who crosses paths with a soulful antique dealer. Their connection quickly blossoms into a meaningful friendship that hints at something deeper…until unexpected news just before Christmas changes everything.
“I’ve always loved the Christmas classic movies – While You Were Sleeping and Miracle on 34th Street, The Holiday and You’ve Got Mail.” Kingsbury said. “It’s time to give people an unforgettable Christmas love story in theaters. This is one they will want to watch every year.”

With over 25 million copies of her award-winning books in print, Karen Kingsbury is one of the most successful authors in inspirational fiction. While many of her stories have already been adapted for film and television — including Like Dandelion Dust, The Bridge, The Baxters, and A Thousand Tomorrows — she took creative control in 2022 by launching Karen Kingsbury Productions. Working alongside her husband and several family members, Kingsbury produced the self-funded and financially successful Someone Like You. Her latest project, The Christmas Ring, follows in those same footsteps as another independently funded film.
