Jimmie Allen is a father of three but does he have plans to continue to expand his family?

The country star recently co-hosted the 57th ACM Awards along with Dolly Parton and Gabby Barrett. While on the red carpet in Las Vegas, he and his wife, Lexi Allen, embraced their night out without their little ones. When the party was over, the lovebirds had to return home to their busy parenting lifestyle with their three kids, Aadyn (7), Niaomi Bettie (2) and Zara James, who was just born in October. During a conversation with Entertainment Tonight‘s Cassie DiLaura, Allen spoke about becoming a new dad for the third time, and revealed he is “retired” from having any more kids.

“The babies are back home in Nashville with Alexis’ mom, my mother-in-law, and my sister so they are hanging out,” Allen said. “Going from two to three is a big jump! It’s cool, we love ’em and we’re just definitely thankful for our kids.”

The couple met in 2019 and tied the knot just one year later in a private ceremony. At that time, Allen was a father to an only child from a previous relationship, his son, Aadyn. When his first son was born, the “Freedom Was A Highway” singer was still struggling to make ends meet as he pursued his music career. One year later, he got a publishing deal and then in the next year, he had a record deal under his belt. Now, having two daughters with Lexi, Allen is thriving in the music industry, hosting awards shows, collaborating with major artists and even producing hit songs – quite a difference from just a few years ago.

The former Dancing With The Stars contestant revealed that he and his wife are definitely feeling the stress of having three kids. “For sure, we feel outnumbered, yeah. [And] we are,” Allen said honestly.

When asked if there has been any talk of him and Lexi trying for another kid in the future, Allen confidently said, ‘”Oh, I am done.”

“I retired my jersey,” he continued, explaining that his wife is also in support of this decision. “We threw around the idea of maybe having another one in like four years, we thought about it, we tossed around the idea. And then we closed the idea.”

“It was actually her idea,” Allen told People. “Cause when it comes to babies, you know guys, we got the fun part … women gotta carry the baby. Give birth to the baby. And ’cause she’s told [people] before she doesn’t mind giving birth, it’s the pregnancy part that’s normally gonna be hard on her.”

“Down Home”

Outside of his hosting duties at the Academy of Country Music awards,  Jimmie Allen also celebrated the release of his new single, “Down Home” that same night. On social media he shared that this song is about his late father, James, with his brothers. He got the chance to debut this ballad in the Allegiant Stadium, where the awards took place, wearing his signature hat, leather jacket and blue jeans.

According to the ACM Awards social media post, “there wasn’t a dry eye in the house” as Allen performed this heartfelt song.
