For Jordan Davis and his wife, Kristen, Valentine’s Day is best celebrated at an Italian chain restaurant that offers endless breadsticks and salads. The country star revealed that they have carried on this tradition at Olive Garden since the first year they met.
“When it comes to Valentines, Kristen is way more romantic than I am. I’m not a very romantic guy. I have worked on it. I’ve tried to get a little bit better over the years,” Davis previously told his label. “Kristen loves chocolate so she’s good for a big chocolate box, but here’s our thing about Valentine’s Day, and this is the God’s honest truth. We’ve been going to Olive Garden on Valentine’s Day since we met. We’ve continued that tradition.”
He explained that his better half started going to this restaurant as a way to celebrate Galantine’s Day before he came along and turned the plans into an official date night. Even though they have been together for several years already, Davis shared that they still look forward to the delicious meal each year.
“I think it started with her and a friend, they used to always go to Olive Garden on Valentine’s Day before they started dating, or before they got in a relationship,” he continued. “So, we have carried that out, so this year will be our, I believe our eighth Valentines in a row where we go in for endless salad and bread sticks.”
Since Olive Garden does tend to be a popular restaurant choice for many, the chances of running into some fans while on his date are pretty high, but that hasn’t deterred them from enjoying every last breadstick…and maybe a few extra to go.
“So, if it’s Valentine’s Day, and you’re at an Olive Garden, we could be next to each other. Hope to see somebody out there at the table next to us just hammering on some breadsticks,” he added with a laugh.
However, this year their plans might have to be adjusted just a bit as Davis is currently overseas performing shows as part of his Damn Good Time World Tour 2024. However, the couple will still be together as Kristen has joined him on this adventure while their kids Elijah, Locklan and Eloise are back at home. Tonight, Davis will celebrate the love-filled holiday with a room full of fans when he plays the Cambridge Corn Exchange in Cambridge, UK.
How Did Jordan Davis And His Wife Meet?
The story of how the “Buy Dirt” singer and his wife met sounds as though it could be the start of the next big romantic comedy. Both were strangers visiting the same city for separate events, but somehow, fate seemed to have brought them together on numerous occasions.
“My college roommate was getting married in New Orleans. My wife was in New Orleans for a totally separate wedding. Both wedding parties were staying at the same hotel, so we met, the first time, in the lobby of the hotel. I’m actually wearing a necklace that has the coordinates to that hotel,” he revealed.
“Then the next day, me and my brother walk into a bar in New Orleans, and her and her friends were sitting in the corner, and I was like, ‘Hey-that’s the girl from the lobby.’ She was actually dating somebody at the time. But we kind of exchanged numbers and stayed in contact, and about two months later, a month later, she came into town for CMA Music Fest and told me that she no longer had a boyfriend, and here we are.”
On March 25, 2017, they finally tied the knot and are now parents to their three young children.
Jordan Davis launched his latest headline run on February 2 in Copenhagen, DK and then brought his show to Norway, Sweden, Denmark, The U.K and more. He will return to the U.S. on April 4 and continue through October, 2024.
Ashley Cooke and Mitchell Tenpenny have been tapped to join Davis as special guests.
