Justin Moore’s Song ‘Guns’ Banned From Streaming Platforms: ‘That To Me Is A Major Issue – Censorship’

UPDATE: After the article was published “Guns” reappeared on Spotify. 

Justin Moore says he was “pissed off” to learn that his song “Guns” was removed from some streaming streaming platforms. 

During a recent episode of The Justin Moore Podcast, the country hitmaker’s co-host and tour manager, JR The Handler, brought the situation to his attention after fans expressed their upset on Twitter.

One Twitter user took to the social platform on January 8 to share,  “Gotta love how “Guns by Justin Moore” is banned on Apple Music and Spotify, almost like they don’t want us to have em,” while another said, “Why is Justin Moore’s song “Guns” not available on Apple Music? @JustinColeMoore #applemusicsensorship.”

As of Friday (Jan. 14), the song appears to be available to play on iTunes and Apple Music.

“@SpotifyCares why is the song “Guns by Justin Moore” missing?? I can’t listen to it in the album, it is greyed out,” another Twitter user shared, tweeting directly at Spotify’s support team on the social media platform.

Moore had no idea the fans were unable to listen to the song on various streaming platforms and was shocked to hear the news. “That’s the first I’ve ever heard of that. Obviously, I’m not listening to me too often. But if that’s a fact, that pisses me off, and I’ll get to the bottom of that.”

“I shall get to the bottom of this because that’s an issue. That to me is a major issue – censorship – I have a major problem with that,” Moore continued. “Here you go, live on the air here… this is how our business works. I never knew that, so I will instantly get on the ball about this. And the other thing that it proves: I wasn’t asked if I were ok with this. At all.”

The country singer then thanked his podcast co-host for making him aware of the issue.

“Thank you for pointing that out, I appreciate it, because that’s the first I’ve heard of it, but I promise you, I’ll get to the bottom of it,” the 37-year-old singer/songwriter said.  ”Currently, I have steam shooting out of my ears.”

The Arkansas native then made his stance on the Second Amendment clear. “Correct me if I’m wrong JR, it is in our Constitution that you have the right to bear arms, right?” Moore said.

While he hasn’t played “Guns” on the road in quite some time, Moore said, “I believe for this upcoming tour we’ll just have to throw it back in the set list.”

“Guns” appears on Moore’s 2011 album, Outlaws Like Me, which spawned two No. 1 hits, including “Til My Last Day” and “If I Heaven Wasn’t So Far Away” as well as his most recognizable song, “Bait A Hook.”

Justin Moore recently announced The Country On It Tour, which kicks off on April 22 in Pensacola, Florida, and runs through September.
