After cheering for the Georgia Bulldogs at the National Championship football game earlier this week, Luke Bryan lost his voice and has been placed on vocal rest.

Following the Georgia Bulldogs championship win, Bryan and his wife Caroline took to social media to share a video of Bryan eating soup in hopes it would soothe his throat, but he could only utter a whisper.

Then on Thursday (Jan. 13), Caroline updated fans in an Instagram post, sharing that the “Up” singer has lost his voice.

In true Caroline fashion, she poked fun at her husband by sharing a photo of her holding tape over his mouth, which she captioned, “He’s on vocal rest after his EXCESSIVE screaming at National Championship game….can’t say I’m too unhappy about it!”

Caroline then joked, “I plan on talking nonstop and annoying the hell out of him. 😈”

Later in the week, Bryan shared a clip to tell fans that he just released a sentimental music video for his latest single, “Up.”

“I may have lost my voice but never losing these memories,” Bryan captioned the clip.

In the video Bryan said, “what’s up everybody, it Luke and I lost my voice at the Georgia Bulldogs game, but anyway I’m so excited to let you guys know that my brand-new single… the video for ‘Up’ is premiering on Facebook right now.”

The country hitmaker then concluded the clip by asking fans to “pray for my voice.”

The news comes just days ahead of Bryan’s Crash My Playa destination event in Mexico.

Crash My Playa will feature four nights of country music on a private stretch of the beach in Riviera Cancún, Mexico, as well as daily pool parties, activities and local adventures.

The event, which experienced the fastest sell-out in its seven-year history back in April 2021, will take place January 19-22 at the spectacular AAA Four Diamond Awarded, Moon Palace Cancún. This oceanfront sanctuary offers magnificent rooms, gourmet all-inclusive food and drink, 24-hour room service as well as plenty of activities on both land and sea, including the luxurious AWE-Spa and a 27-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course.

Bryan will headline the destination event alongside Jason Aldean and Dustin Lynch. The star-studded lineup also includes performances by Ashley McBryde, Riley Green, Jimmie Allen, LoCash, Jameson Rodgers, Lainey Wilson, Caitlyn Smith, Whitney Duncan, Kendell Marvel and DJ Rock.
