Kacey Musgraves Predicts She Will ‘Lose Everything’ to Ella Langley At 2026 CMA Awards

Kacey Musgraves was named among some of the top nominees for this year’s CMA Awards, however she admits she is keeping her expectations low as she expects Ella Langley to claim all of the trophies that she’s up for.

Musgraves earned five nods ahead of the 60th annual awards show, while Ella Langley leads the pack with nine. Knowing the massive year that the Alabama native has had this year, the country star told an arena full of fans that she is preparing to watch her fellow songstress come out on top.

The 2026 nominees were announced on Thursday (Sept. 10) and the following day Musgraves brought her Middle of Nowhere tour to Fiserv Forum in Wisconsin. Standing in front of a packed group of fans, she opened up about the news.

“I’m going to have to really pick out something really pretty to wear whenever I lose everything to Ella Langley,” she joked.

This statement earned a round of boos from the audience, prompting Musgraves to say, “Oh come on guys you know it’s true.”

She went on to commend Langley for the “amazing run” and “big a** year” that she’s had. She then earned some laughs when she quoted her own song, “Rhinestoned,” stating that she’s planning on “Getting all dressed up just to get knocked down” during the CMA Awards on November 18.

“That’s gonna be me… It’s fine. It’s fine. I’ll be fine. But nevertheless, thank you so much,” she added.

There’s no secret that Musgraves loves winning, because as she noted she is a Leo after all, but what matters even more to her is looking out into the audience and seeing “such a beautifully diverse crowd and so many different people with so many different ideas, backgrounds.”

Kacey Musgraves five nominations include Album of the Year for Middle of Nowhere, Song of the Year for “Dry Spell,” Female Vocalist of the Year, Musical Event of the Year for “Horses and Divorces,” and Music Video of the Year for “Dry Spell.”

The winners will be announced during the 60th Annual CMA Awards. Hosted by Lainey Wilson the star-studded night will air live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday, November 18, at 8/7c on ABC and Disney+. The broadcast will also be available to stream on Hulu the following day.
