The superstar also discussed his daughter’s perspective on their mom’s pregnancy and having his wife, Katelyn, join him on the road.

Kane Brown is the ultimate girl dad. As a father to two young daughters, Kingsley Rose and Kodi Jane, Brown has become accustomed to a life filled with Disney princesses, impromptu dance parties, tea parties, and more, but that’s all about to change when he and his wife, Katelyn, welcome a baby boy into the world later this year.
While he has fully embraced being a “girl dad,” the chart-topping star admits he’s “definitely” looking forward to meeting his son and experiencing everything that comes along with a father/son relationship.
During a recent conversation with Country Now, Brown revealed that one of the things he’s most looking forward to about having a son is introducing him to sports.

“I played baseball since I was three, so I would love for him to, and if he doesn’t want to, he doesn’t have to, but I would just love to have baseball,” the “I Can Feel It” singer confessed.
While he doesn’t plan to push his little man into anything specific, Brown pointed out, “We have a basketball court at the house, which my girls love basketball, but they’re more princesses than anything, so I’m hoping he does something.”
Whether he feels inclined to play basketball, baseball, or golf, a sport that Brown has recently taken an interest in, the singer/songwriter says he hopes to be a coach for his son’s team.

“All my friends back home, they are coaches of their son’s baseball team and they’re all about the same age, so they get to compete against each other and that’s what we used to do back in the day. So I would love to be able to do that,” he explained.
As Katelyn’s due date inches near, Kane said his girls, especially Kingsley, are starting to understand the impending arrival of their baby brother.
“Kodi? Not yet it, but yeah, Kingsley’s like, the other day she said, ‘Kodi, I was in mommy’s belly and then you were in mommy’s belly and then now our baby brother is and mommy’s belly.’ So it’s just cool to hear her talk about it,” he said with a smile.

Katelyn Brown has yet to confirm her due date, but as they wait for the arrival of their baby boy, she is spending time as much time as possible on the road with Kane on his In The Air Tour. Each night, she joins him on stage to perform their chart-topping duet, “Thank God.” It’s one of the many highlights of the show, and always provokes a giant sing-along among the crowd.
Brown’s favorite part about having Katelyn join him on tour? “I don’t have to miss her.”
The In The Air Tour continues this weekend in Texas with stops in Lubbock, Houston, and Austin. The massive trek wraps on September 14 at Globe Life Field in Arlington.
