Reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year Keith Urban has been tapped to host the 55th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards, the ACM and Urban announced Thursday (Feb. 27).
Urban took home the coveted ACM Entertainer of the Year trophy for the first time ever in 2019. He is currently a 15-time ACM Award winner.
Prior to Thursday’s announcement, Urban dropped a brand new single, “God Whispered Your Name” .” The superstar previewed the track for members of the country music industry during last week’s Country Radio Seminar in Nashville.
“As if having a new song out today wasn’t enough, I also get to host the ACMs in April,” Urban shared in a press release. “I’ll tell you – this year already feels like the most creative and energized year of my life… and there’s so much more to come. Incredibly grateful – and ready to roll!”

The nominees for the 55th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards will be revealed Thursday morning beginning at 8:30 am ET.
The ACM Awards telecast will air LIVE from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, April 5 (live 8:00-11:00 PM ET/delayed PT) on CBS. The show will also be available to stream live and on-demand across digital platforms on the CBS All Access subscription service.

Over the course of her career, she has had the privilege of conducting interviews with some of the industry’s most prominent stars, including Reba McEntire, Blake Shelton, Luke Combs, Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, Lainey Wilson, and many others. Lauren Jo Black is a longtime member of the Country Music Association and the Academy of Country Music.
