Kelsea Ballerini tapped one of her musical heroes, Shania Twain, to join her for a new version of her current single, “Hole in the Bottle” and it’s two and half minutes of pure fun.
Out now, the “Hole in the Bottle” (with Shania Twain) takes the song to a whole new level and even offers a nod to Twain’s massive hit, “Man! I Feel Like a Woman!”
“They say don’t meet your heroes…unless your hero is Shania Twain…then meet her, know her, and make music with her,” Ballerini shared. “She’s inspired me in every way and has become a mentor and friend and added some major sass and spice to hole in the bottle the way only Shania could.”
“Kelsea and I have had some fun laughs together over the last couple of years! She joined me on stage back in 2017 when I headlined Stagecoach and we’ve had a chance to catch up over a glass of wine a couple of times since,” Twain said. “We’ve also sent pieces of songs back and forth to each other and I have to say, she’s an incredible raw talent. I love ‘hole in the bottle,’ it really speaks to my own sense of humor and it was so cool to get to do it with a friend.”
Ballerini and Twain teased the boozy collaboration on social media for several days before its release, going back and forth with various references to each other.
On Wednesday, Ballerini made the official announcement with her CMA Awards performance by closing her set with the words “let’s go girls.” She later shared the news on social media, revealing that the song would be released the following night.
