Kenzie Wheeler, The Voice

Kenzie Wheeler has been wowing country music fans on The Voice with his country music chops since his audition with a Keith Whitley cover landed him a four-chair turn.

The 22-year-old ultimately landed a spot on Team Kelly and has gone on to impress fans week after week with his country performances.

Wheeler made his way into the Top 17 and took the stage for a performance of Brooks & Dunn’s “Red Dirt Road” during the live rounds on Monday evening (May 10). His performance of the 2003 hit earned praise from the coaches.

Clarkson told him he was a fantastic performer and once again confirmed that her use of the block button on Blake Shelton during Wheeler’s audition was her best move ever on the show.

Throughout The Voice‘s 20th season, the Florida native has performed songs such as Luke Combs’ “Beer Never Broke My Heart” and Nitty Gritty Dirt Band’s “Fishin’ in the Dark.”

His mullet has been a topic of conversation throughout the show as well as Shelton has admired it several times. Recently, the country superstar joked that he’s considering growing his mullet back after being inspired by Wheeler to do so.

“You’re probably going to win The Voice and that haircut’s going to be trending and I want to be in on it,” Shelton told him

The Voice airs on Mondays and Tuesdays on NBC.
