Lady Antebellum’s highly anticipated new album, Ocean, is out now, and to celebrate, the trio stopped by NBC’s Today show to perform a few tracks from the record.
Following their buzzed-about performance with pop artist Halsey at the CMA Awards on Wednesday, Lady Antebellum performed “What If I Never Get Over You” for the Today show studio audience.
Backed by their band, Charles Kelley, Hillary Scott and Dave Haywood delivered a flawless performance of the song. Rather than strip the song down like they did at the CMAs, the group’s performance was arranged like the radio single and was full of emotion and feelings of heartbreak.
The trio took the stage during the show to sing “Pictures,” which has quickly become a fan-favorite from the album.
Featuring a groovy melody and descriptive lyrics, the introspective song has Lady A reflecting on a relationship that ultimately fell apart through old photos of the couple.
Ocean finds Lady Antebellum returning to their roots, showcasing the unique sound they originally became known for. The just-released record is the follow-up to their 2017 album, Heart Break.
