Lainey Wilson is quickly making a name for herself as one of country music’s hottest up-and-coming artists. With her unique brand of “bell bottom country music” (as she’s deemed it), Wilson continues to turn heads with each new release.
Her latest single,” Things A Man Oughta Know,” is no different. The song, which is featured on her EP, Redneck Hollywood, finds Wilson touting her abilities to do things like shoot a gun, change a tire and catch a fish without a man helping her along the way. However, as the song continues, Wilson croons over a relationship that went wrong and offers some advice: “If you really love a woman, you don’t let her go/ Yeah, I know a few things a man oughta know…”
As she continues to make waves with “Things A Man Oughta Know,” Wilson is taking over the Country Now playlist to share her song picks with fans. From girl power anthems like Carly Pearce’s “Next Girl” and Ingrid Andress’ “Lady Like,” to tender tracks like Chris Stapleton’s “Starting Over” and Keith Urban’s “God Whispered Your Name,” Wilson’s playlist includes a little something for everyone.
“Every single one of the songs on this playlist make me feel something. Whether it makes me want to raise a glass to a good time or pour one out for a heartache these are the songs that hit feelings on both ends of the spectrum,” she says. “I like my music fresh but familiar, whether I’m writing it or listening to it. And that’s what I like about these songs and country now.”
