There’s a new country duo in town!

Meet Southerland. Comprised of the talented Matt Chase and Chris Rogers, the duo recently signed to River House Artists/Sony Music Nashville and just released their debut single, “Thing Is.”

The playful tune mixes the duo’s love for traditional country music with modern production and was co-written by Chase, Rogers and Greg Bates

“We’ve never been more excited about releasing music that feels this authentic to who we are,” the duo shared. “From the very beginning, we’ve just tried to have fun doing what we love, and we think that’s a quality that really shines through with ‘Thing Is.’”

While the pair met in 2016 at a songwriting session, they officially teamed up in 2019 after being signed as a duo. They were signed by River House Artists/Sony Music Nashville, are represented by WME, and also signed a publishing deal with Reservoir.

The country singer/songwriters have produced modern, catchy music while retaining the meaningful lyrics and melodies of traditional country music. Despite this being their debut single, the up-and-comers have shared the stage with artists such as Luke Combs, Lauren Alaina, Darius Rucker, and Morgan Wallen (among others).

More new music from Southerland will be released in the coming months.
