Lainey Wilson created such a good windows-down anthem with “4x4xU” that even she can’t help herself from jamming out to the fan-favorite tune while cruising around in a real 4×4 with her longtime boyfriend, Devlin “Duck” Hodges, on days off.
The ACM and CMA Entertainer of the Year is currently in the midst of her Country’s Cool Again Tour, but she still finds the time to relax with her other half and live out the kind of days she dreams of in the song. A new video posted to TikTok finds Wilson capturing one of these heartfelt moments as she and Hodges cruise through the countryside while sporting bright smiles and singing along to the love-filled lyrics. In another similar video, Wilson quoted her own lyrics, claiming “ain’t nowhere I’d rather be.”

Co-written by Wilson, Jon Decious, and Aaron Raitiere, and produced by GRAMMY ® award-winning producer Jay Joyce, “4x4xU” marked the fourth track to be released from her latest album, Whirlwind. The song is currently in the top 25 at country radio and continues to heat up stages during the Louisiana native’s live shows. Fans can’t seem to get enough of the powerful emotions she illustrates while reflecting on the peace and joy she has found in falling in love with someone who truly feels like home, no matter where she is in the world.
“In a 4x4xU, babe/ From the bayou to Kentucky/ City to the country/ From here to Timbuktu/ Boy, after a long day/ You know there ain’t no wrong way/ To drive my crazy crazy/ In a 4x4xU,” she sings on the chorus.
Hodges doesn’t often make an appearance in Wilson’s TikTok videos but when he does, an abundance of love is always felt. She first started rumors of a possible romance back in April of 2023 when she donned a Pittsburgh Steelers jersey on stage with the same number he wore while playing for the team as quarterback in 2019. One month later, the pair made their relationship public when Hodges accompanied her on the red carpet of the 2023 ACM Awards.
During a recent stop in Pittsburgh, the “Hang Tight Honey” singer brought out her Steelers jersey once again, except now, fans knew that she was proudly promoting her other half. Hodges always shows his love for Wilson by cheering her on at concerts and award shows and watching as she lives out her dreams each day.
Fans still have some time to catch Lainey Wilson on her Country’s Cool Again Tour as she has a few remaining dates through November. Following her run of back-to-back shows in Monroe, LA on November 15-16, she make her debut as a host of the 58th Annual CMA Awards alongside Luke Bryan and Payton Manning.
“I could not be more excited to host the CMA Awards this year with Luke and Peyton,” Wilson previously shared. “It’s such an incredible honor and something I’ve always dreamed of doing. We’re planning a really great show for y’all, so make sure to watch on November 20!”
Wilson is going into the star-studded night with four nominations. Country Music’s Biggest Night™ will air live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday, Nov. 20, from 8:00-11:00 PM/EST on ABC, with streaming available the next day on Hulu.
