Lindsay Ell is currently living out her lifelong dream of touring with country icon, Shania Twain. Back in April, the songstress announced that she had been invited to play guitar for Twain throughout the year and since then, she has continued to document every step of the epic journey.
“My 10-year-old self is speechless, truly, and it was really hard to make me speechless when I was 10 years old,” Ell previously shared on Instagram. “The fact that Shania asked me to play guitar for her this year, I am truly honored, I am so grateful…this year is going to be epic,” she added.
The pair of artists kickstarted their run together with Twain’s new headlining Las Vegas residency in May. Shania Twain: COME ON OVER – The Las Vegas Residency – All The Hits! was born in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the global sensation’s timeless third studio album, Come On Over and serves as her third residency in Sin City. The show returns to Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on August 23 and runs through December 14.
A few days after opening night, Ell took to Instagram to share a recap of some of her favorite moments both on and off the stage in Vegas that were only the start of a fun-filled year alongside the “You’re Still The One” singer.
Her caption read, “Is this the dream life?! ✨ I would highly recommend getting to work alongside your hero. My heart and my mind are constantly overwhelmed with gratitude. These shows with @shaniatwain have truly been 🤯💜.”
After wrapping up the first leg of the Come On Over residency, Lindsay Ell joined Twain in her trip across the pond to the UK and Ireland. Twain’s most recent headline performance featuring Ell’s epic guitar-playing skills took place at London’s iconic BST Hyde Park on Sunday, July 7.
While reflecting on this milestone run of shows, Ell wrote, “The past two weeks touring across the UK & Ireland have been so magical, and headlining Hyde Park was the cherry on top of it all to finish the run.”
She added, “Thank you @shaniatwain for bringing me across the pond and continuously sharing your brilliant artistry with me. 💜🇬🇧🇮🇪”
In addition to touring with Shania Twain, Lindsay Ell has still been releasing her own music, playing her own shows and racking up milestone achievements along the way. She was previously signed to Stoney Creek Records and the BBR Music Group before departing in 2023 and has a made a name for herself as a pop/country artist with an incredible ability to command the stage. In recent years, she has also won multiple Canadian Country Music Association Awards, earned a No. 1 as a feature on Brantley Gilbert’s “What Happens In A Small Town.”
Most recently, the Canadian Country Music Association® (CCMA®) Board of Directors and the CCMA proudly named Lindsay Ell the 2024 recipient of the Gary Slaight Music Humanitarian Award. She earned this recognition for her remarkable achievements with The Make You Movement charitable fund, in addition to her outstanding advocacy work and support for sexual assault survivors and the LGBTQ2SIA+ community.
“I think one of the most important responsibilities of artists is to use their platforms for good, to do everything they can to change the world or at least make it better for those whose voices aren’t always heard,” said Ell. “I’m so proud of what we have accomplished through The Make You Movement and know that this is just the beginning. Thank you to both The Slaight Family and the CCMA for inspiring this community to dig deep and help where we can with the creation of this award. I promise to continue this work with both passion and dedication.”
Lindsay Ell is set to perform at a slew of upcoming festivals including the Calgary Stampede on July 24.
