Lisa Hartman Black Will No Longer Perform With Clint Black In Kansas: ‘Sadly, Lisa Can’t Sing With Us’

As they say in show business, the show must go on and that’s exactly what will happen when Clint Black hits the stage tonight without his wife, Lisa Hartman Black, by his side.
The country music icon’s Saturday evening concert in Wichita, Kansas at the Orpheum Theatre will go on as planned, however, Hartman Black, will not be taking the stage as she is too ill to perform.
The couple’s daughter, Lily Black will perform alongside the “Killin’ Time” singer.
“Alas, @lisahbofficial is not well enough to sing tonight, but @lilypblack and I are going forward with the show at @WichitaOrpheum,” Clint Black shared on Twitter, just hours before the concert.
When a fan asked if the show as still on, he later clarified, “The show will go on but sadly, Lisa can’t sing with us.”
The news comes just days after the family was forced to cancel their show at ArcBest Performing Arts Center in Fort Smith, Arkansas on Thursday (Dec. 1) due to illness.
“Due to the seasonal bug hitting the touring party, the Clint Black concert, featuring Lisa Hartman Black scheduled for December 1, 2022, at ArcBest Performing Arts Center has been canceled,” Black shared in a statement earlier this week.
The Black Family is in the midst of their Mostly Hits & The Mrs. Tour, which kicked off on Thursday, November 17 in Burnsville, Minnesota. The tour features the beloved husband and wife alongside their daughter, Lily Pearl.
“Having my family on the road is the best and the reactions have been everything we hoped they would be!” Black previously shared.
The extended run, promoted by Pepper Entertainment, will wrap up in Pensacola, FL at Saenger Theatre on February 5, 2023.
Lily Pearl Black recently released a three-song EP, Songs From The Mostly Hits & The Mrs Tour. The collection includes a new song, “Never Knew Love,” which was co-written by Clint Black and David Foster. This marks Lily Pearl’s first-ever studio recording.
The EP also includes live versions of her cover of Carrie Underwood’s “Cry Pretty” and Randy Newman’s “Every Time It Rains.”
“These are three of my favorite songs and I wanted to share them with the great audiences we have had on the tour,” Lily Pearl shared in a statement. “I am new to this business and they have been so gracious and supportive. They inspire me to work really hard to bring them my best every night.”
Both legs of The Mostly Hits & The Mrs. Tour are a result of their PBS Special that began airing in June.
Clint Black was recently presented with 60 Million-Air award by BMI to celebrate 60 million broadcast performances of his songs. He was also awarded a plaque commemorating 38 billion audience airplay impressions.
“This is one of the most moving and exciting things that has happened to me since my daughter was born,” Black shared at the time. “From the beginning of my recording career, I was determined to write my own songbook, one that would last the test of time. These awards validate for me everything I thought I was doing. Thank you BMI, Luminate, RIAA and most of all country radio and the fans.”
Black is a celebrated artist with 22 No.1 hits and 31 Top 10 singles. To date, he has sold more than 20 million records and has been recognized with many awards and nominations, including a GRAMMY Award.
The next scheduled tour date of the Mostly Hits & The Mrs. Tour is slated for Sunday, December 4 at Bridge View Center in Ottumwa, Iowa. At this time, it is unclear whether or not Lisa Hartman Black will be well enough to perform.
