Carly Pearce has a long-standing relationship with country music and in her brand-new tune, “Country Music Made Me Do It,” the female songstress illustrates just how much the genre has impacted her life.
Co-written by Pearce with frequent collaborators Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne, the upbeat love letter pays homage to all the life lessons, heartbreak remedies, and passion rooted in the storylines of traditional country music through Pearce’s vibrant vocals that are amplified by uplifting guitar riffs and steady drumbeats.
“Country music made me do it / Got me drunk and got me through it / A little heartbreak 80 proof / Over three chords and the truth / Out of a small town and into a ball gown / Picking me up every time that I fall down / Everything I’ve done wrong or I’ve done right / Oh country music made me do it and I’ll do it till I die,” the Grammy Award-winner sings on the chorus.

Ahead of the new release, Pearce took to social media to share a few exciting updates with fans including a sneak peek into what this song represents for her.
She wrote, “I’ve been busy in the studio recording new music, and want to share a little of that with you too. ‘Country Music Made Me Do It’ is the essence of this next chapter for me. I wrote this song as an autobiographical anthem, but I can’t wait to hear the ways YOUR story has been influenced by country music.”
“Country Music Made Me Do It” follows Pearce’s latest rising single with Chris Stapleton titled, “We Don’t Fight Anymore,” as well as her No. 1 hit “Never Wanted To Be That Girl” with Ashley McBryde, which recently was earned a Platinum certification by the RIAA.

In addition to revealing this new song title, Pearce announced that she will be hitting the road this fall for her North American headline tour of the same name.
