Country newcomer Dalton Dover continues to turn heads with the release of his new song, “Hear About A Girl.”
The fast-rising country star released the Adam Craig, Michael Carter and Jim McCormick-penned tune on Friday (June 3), just days ahead of his official CMA Fest debut.

Throughout the song, Dover croons over a girl who stopped him in his tracks and made him want to be a better man, however, in an unfortunate turn of events, their relationship goes south and he finds himself turning to alcohol with hopes to drown his sorrows.
“And then you hear about a girl you can’t get off your mind/ Drinking by yourself just trying to find/ A little bit of hope in the 90 proof/ That you’ll get over her ’cause she’s over you/ Yeah, you’ll hear about a girl that changed your life/ Just by saying hello, then saying goodbye/ You’d sure love to be throwin’ ’em back without a care in the world/ But you’ll hear about a girl,” the Georgia native sings on the chorus.
Dover, who was recently featured as a Country Next artist and named a Spotify Hot Country 2022 Artist to Watch, has continued to build his fan base via social media, with nearly 500,000 followers on TikTok.
“This ride so far has been crazy,” Dover said. “Everything I’ve worked for my entire life is happening right before my eyes, and I’ll forever be grateful to everyone for listening, sharing and duetting the music and to the Country community for giving this ole boy from Georgia a real shot. I’m so thankful for each of you. Here’s to dreams coming true, some kick-ass shows and new music!”
“Hear About A Girl” follows Dover’s independently released songs, ”You Got A Small Town” and “Baby I Am.”
Dover will perform at CMA Fest on Friday, June 10 on the Chevy Vibes Stage at 12:30 PM CT. The 23-year-old will also take the stage at Spotify House at Ole Red on Thursday, June 9.
Additionally, Dover will join Luke Combs at The Bootleggers’ Tailgate Party presented by Whiskey Jam on July 30 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
