Luke Bryan takes listeners inside the “Mind of A Country Boy” on his new, small-town anthem.

Out Friday, June 14, the upbeat track finds the Georgia native once again drawing from his rural upbringing by sharing insight into some of the worries and thoughts of someone immersed in the simpler way of life. The narrative also cleverly illustrates the best of rural living, such as old-school country legends like Alabama and Ed Bruce, clear starry nights, drinking with close friends in local bars and hunting season.

“Is the trickle charger hooked up to the boat?/ Is the pattern right on my turkey choke?/ Are them Appaloosa cats gonna bite?/ If they do, are we fryin’ ’em tonight?/ Is the price of corn gonna turn around?/ Is diesel cheaper two exits down?/ Are we drinking beer at the bar/ Or shootin’ whiskey down on the farm?,” he ponders in the opening verse.

Bryan’s southern accent continues to shine throughout the chorus as he shifts his focus to a love interest and brainstorms different ways to win her over.

He continues, “Does she like old-school Alabama or Mamas Don’t Let Your Babies?/ Is it farmers’ market roses or a handful of dirt road daisies?/ Ooh-ooh, are them stars lined up just right/ Ooh-ooh, for stealin’ me a kiss tonight?/ That’s what weighs on, that’s what stays on/ The mind of a country boy.

“Mind Of A Country Boy” was written by the five-time Entertainer of the Year with Ben Hayslip, Dallas Davidson, and Rhett Atkins (The Peach Pickers) and co-produced by Jeff Stevens and Jody Stevens. The song offers a taste of all the new music expected from Luke Bryan later this year.

“Every time I get in a room with The Peach Pickers we have so much fun because we have so much in common,” said Bryan. “This song not only shows what can run through my mind but also what most us country boys think about on any given day.  The girl we love, outdoors, life and not getting above our raising.”
