LISTEN: Walker Hayes Adds Kesha To New Version of ‘Fancy Like’

Double-Platinum country singer/songwriter Walker Hayes is bringing his viral hit “Fancy Like” to the next level with a special feature by GRAMMY-nominated pop star Kesha.

“I’ve been a fan of Kesha’s originality and vocals since first hearing her music,” the Monument Records’ artist shared. “When Kesha sings, you know it’s Kesha. Her swag is so identifiable, and her songwriting celebrates the fun of everyday life and is so honest. It’s the perfect fit for a track about just that.”

Written by Hayes, Cameron Bartolini, Shane Stevens, and Josh Jenkins, the original version of the infectious track from the singer’s EP Country Stuff has taken over almost every country streaming and sales chart following its release this past June. After topping the SiriusXM’s The Highway’s Hot 30 Weekend Countdown, the Shazam Global Country Chart, and the iTunes All Genre Chart, the wildly successful single remains at the number one spot on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs after eight weeks.

“Fancy Like’s” groundbreaking success began with a TikTok of Hayes and his daughter Lela as they sang the track that the country artist wrote in response to a fan believing that his lifestyle was more exciting than it truly is.

“The inspiration behind the song was living and relishing the everyday things in life,” the “You Broke Up With Me” singer explained in an interview Southern Living. 

Since the initial posting of the video on TikTok, it has received a whopping 30 million views and garnered “Fancy Like” more than 127 million streams.
