The 2020 ACM Awards kicked off on Wednesday (Sept. 16) at 8 p.m. EST with a star-studded performance from this year’s Entertainer Of The Year nominees including Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Luke Combs, Thomas Rhett and Carrie Underwood.
The five nominees for the night’s top prize of Entertainer Of The Year performed a medley of each their greatest hits including songs like Bryan’s “Rain Is A Good Thing,” Church’s “Drink In My Hand,” Combs’ “When It Rains It Pours,” Rhett’s “It Goes Like This” and Underwoods’ “Before He Cheats.”
The award show kept socially distance with each of the artists performance coming from a different iconic venue in Nashville. Bryan and Church performed from the Grand Ole Opry House, Combs from the Bluebird Cafe, Rhett from the Ryman Auditorium and Underwood at the Opry House.
The 55th Academy of Country Music Awards also featured performances from Jimmie Allen, Gabby Barrett, Kelsea Ballerini, Kane Brown, Luke Bryan, Luke Combs, Eric Church, Florida Georgia Line, Riley Green, Mickey Guyton, Dan + Shay, Miranda Lambert, Tim McGraw, Maren Morris, Old Dominion, Thomas Rhett featuring Jon Pardi, Blake Shelton with Gwen Stefani, Taylor Swift, Tenille Townes, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban with P!nk, Morgan Wallen and Trisha Yearwood.
The 2020 ACM Awards took place in Music City for the first time ever. The three-hour show took place at three iconic venues: Grand Ole Opry House, Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium and The Bluebird Cafe.
Hosted by Keith Urban, the star-studded event aired on Wednesday, September 16 (live 8:00-11:00 PM ET/delayed PT) on CBS Television Network and streamed live and on-demand on CBS All Access.
