Vincent Mason just got word that he will be notching another career milestone in a few short months. On Thursday, July 18, the emerging artist took to social media to share the moment Luke Bryan delivered the news that he has been invited to make his debut on the coveted Grand Ole Opry stage.
The past few weeks, the pair of artists have gotten to know each other on the road as Mason has been serving as an opener on Bryan’s Mind of a Country Boy Tour, so it only felt fitting that he would get the invitation from the fellow Georgia native.
A camera captured the rising star from behind as Bryan announced, “We got good news… your Opry debut is set for September 7.”
The video swiftly cuts to Mason’s reaction, revealing his shock and pure excitement. A wide smile stretched across his face as he took in Bryan’s words. He and Bryan shared a brief hug while the room of team members applauded Mason on this incredibly high honor that every country star looks forward to in their career.
“Thought I’d just come in and deliver the news. Good job,” the “Love You, Miss You, Mean it” singer added.
In his caption, Mason shared immense gratitude and continued to gush about the unexpected moment that took place this past weekend in Cincinnati while surrounded by family and friends.
“Pretty damn cool to find out you’re gonna be playing at the Grand Ole Opry. It’s even cooler to find out from @lukebryan and getting to have your family there too. I’ve always thought of the @opry as the home of country music and I’m so thankful to get the chance to step in the circle,” he wrote.
This news follows closely behind the release of his new single, “Heart Like This.” Penned by the Interscope/UMG Nashville/Music Soup artist alongside Cary Barlowe and Jaxson Free, the fresh tune delivers an emotional story about losing an ex and the pain that follows. Mason takes an honest look into his vulnerable songwriting as he finds himself questioning how to repair his heartache.
“The sing along aspect of this song made it stand out to everyone who heard it, that was a main reason why we decided to release it,” he shared of the new song. “It really just feels on brand, it’s the perfect representation of the songs I want to put out.”
Vincent Mason still has a slew of performances on the books before he steps into the coveted circle of the Grand Ole Opry on September 7. He will continue heating up stages throughout the rest of July and August while opening for his remaining dates with Luke Bryan and Corey Kent. Then in the fall, he will appear on the entire run of Gavin Adcock’s upcoming tour and join Kameron Marlowe on select dates of his current trek.
