Jelly Roll unveils his epic new release, “Dead End Road,” which is set to appear on the Twisters: The Album, dropping Friday, July 19.

With adrenaline pumping through his veins, Jelly Roll illustrates all the wreckage he’s done in his life that’s led him down the bad path he’s currently on.

In the opening verse, he admits he’s “an underthinkin’, overusin’, tall drinkin’, short fusin’ Gettin’ in my own way.” With this realization staring him head-on, the Antioch, TN native offers grit and urgency in his voice while evoking the desire to pump the brakes and turn things around or else he might “crash and burn.”

“Cause that highway to hell is the road/ I’m on I need to turn around before I’m too far gone/ If I’m ever gonna make it on them streets of gold/ I gotta quit livin’ on a dead end road,” he sings on the chorus.

Also unveiled today is an accompanying music video directed by Alex Bittan. In order to capture the high energy of “Dead End Road,” Jelly Roll finds himself cruising through a rural area while chasing the treacherous storms up ahead. His performance clips are also set within a home that’s being blown to dust as debris flies through the air and the windows shatter to pieces. Clips from the highly anticipated film, Twisters, starring Glen Powell and Daisy Edgar-Jones, are interlaced with the footage of Jelly Roll’s hard-hitting performance.

The intensity heats up even more at the end of the music video, resulting in him being surrounded by fiery blasts. Even through the destruction, Jelly Roll turns to the camera and flashes his devilish smile while delivering the final lyrics.

The country star’s name appears on the songwriting credits of the tune alongside Brock Berryhill, Jaxson Free and Taylor Phillips. This group of esteemed songwriters created a song that perfectly fits the chaos and thrill of the new movie from Universal Pictures, Warner Bros. Pictures, and Amblin Entertainment.

Jelly Roll joins a star-studded list of artists who appear on Twisters: The Album, including Conner Smith, Tucker Wetmore, Mason Ramsey, Lainey Wilson, Miranda Lambert, Luke Combs and more.
