Luke Combs shared a hilarious reaction to seeing Post Malone wearing unofficial merchandise with his face on it while on stage.

The genre-bending artist kicked off his headlining F-1 Trillion tour with back-to-back nights in Salt Lake City, UT over the weekend. Before getting the run started, he shared a carousel of photos from a previous performance that may have foreshadowed his friendship with Combs.

Even though the t-shirt looked authentic with the photograph of Combs sitting front and center and the title of his hit song, “Beer Never Broke My Heart,” written around the bottom, the North Carolina native made sure to call out the fact that it was “bootleg” merchandise.

Even though the shirt isn’t his official merchandise, Combs appeared to be flattered as he wrote, “Shirt is gas. Even though it’s bootleg haha.”

Fans were loving this playful interaction between the country singer/songwriters. One user noted that Combs needs to mend this issue by sending Malone a “legit” t-shirt from his merchandise collection while another suggested that he should make it even by getting his own shirt with the “I Had Some Help” singer’s face on it.

Since Malone began his venture into the world of country music, there have been plenty of superstars around Music City that have played a role in helping introduce him to the new community of fans. Luke Combs was one of those influential figures as he joined the genre-bending star in singing the fan-favorite single, “Guy For That.” which appears on Malone’s debut country album, F-1 Trillion.

Written by Post Malone (Austin Post), Charlie Handsome, ERNEST (Ernest K. Smith), Hoskins, James McNair, Louis Bell, and Luke Combs, the honest tune finds the artists admitting that while they know a guy for just about anything they may need, they fall short when it comes to building healthy relationships.

Combs is the only artist who appears on Malone’s star-studded project twice. In addition to “Guy For That,” he also serves as a featured artist on the track “Missin’ You Like This.” The two artists have seemed to grow pretty close throughout this creative process, and the “Love You Anyway” singer admitted there is likely more on the way as they have “written a bunch together this year.”

“He’s such a music fan. He just loves music, all kinds of music. He loves making music. He has such just good energy and vibe, he’s just positive, at least from my experience. And gosh, I mean, he’s just the sweetest dude,” Combs said, gushing about Malone in an interview with Audacy’s Katie & Company

This weekend, Post Malone will bring his headline tour to Noblesville, IN on Sept. 12 and Syracuse, NY on Sept. 14. The trek continues through the end of October with rising country duo, Muscadine Bloodline serving as support.
