Luke Combs is celebrating his wife’s birthday with a social media post that includes a few heartfelt words and a slideshow of photos that capture the true essence of his love for her.
Taking to Instagram on Friday, July 21, the country superstar praised Nicole for her daily efforts as a mother, a wife, and a huge supporter of his career.
The caption read, “Happy Birthday to the love of my life, the worlds best mom, and my best friend. You shine so much light on my life everyday. It’s hard to explain how much you mean to me and to our little family. I love you!!!”
“Aw thanks babes. Pic 4 lmao💀 I love you massssss 💙,” she wrote in response, referencing the candid image of her enjoying a hearty breakfast.
Nicole has been by Luke’s side since the very beginning. Even before he became a sensation in the country music world, she saw something special in him.
The pair first met in 2016 during a Key West Songwriters Festival in Florida. Combs was present at the festival as a performer while Nicole was working with BMI, who served as the host of the event.
“I didn’t have anything going on when we met,” Luke explained during an appearance on the podcast Couple Things with Shawn Johnson and Andrew East. “I didn’t have a record deal or a publishing deal or anything.”
Nicole then revealed that she was the one to make the first move.
“I was leaving a songwriters round and he was walking up late to it and I was just like, ‘hey, come hang out with us, why are you by yourself?,” she recalled.
Looking back, Luke can laugh at the fact that he may not have looked his best in the moment.
“Yeah, I looked bad too… I was wearing camo gym shorts from Walmart… classy, classy stuff. And like the oldest t-shirt that I owned, probably,” he admitted.
Shortly after this encounter, the couple began dating and then officially tied the knot on August 1, 2020. Fans got to witness portions of their special day through Luke Combs’ music video for his chart-topping hit, “Forever After All.”
Luke and Nicole expanded their family on June 19, 2022 when they welcomed a son, Tex Lawrence. They shared the news with fans via social media alongside a loving family photo.
“Welp he decided that Father’s Day would be a good time to show up. I couldn’t agree more. Me and @nicolejcombs are over the moon in love with this little guy,” he wrote at the time. “Mama and baby are healthy and we’re back home now with family. Life is good. Everyone welcome Tex Lawrence Combs to the world!”
Less than a year later, they revealed an exciting surprise – Baby No. 2 is on the way. Taking to Instagram, they posted a series of heartwarming family photos that featured their firstborn son wearing a “big brother” onesie.
“Joining the 2 under 2 club! Baby boy #2 coming this September,” Luke and Nicole shared in the caption of a joint Instagram post.
While walking the red carpet, Nicole was seen smiling from ear to ear as she debuted her baby bump alongside Combs, who spoke to Entertainment Tonight about the excitement and stress that comes along with welcoming another member into their family. This can be an especially difficult task when they already have a 10-month-old son, Tex Lawrence, to keep up with at home.
“Two under two is gonna be interesting,” Combs told the outlet. “We got it though. I’m excited.”
“And the one day it’ll be two of ’em, right?” He joked. “It’s not much time to worry about anything when you got a 10-month-old at home.”
As the parents eagerly await the arrival of their second child, Luke Combs is maintaining his busy touring schedule. He’s currently in the midst of his massive World Tour, which kicked off on March 25 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas and features a total of 39 shows across 3 continents and 16 countries.
The trek runs through October 20, where it will wrap up with back-to-back shows in London, England at The O2 Arena.
Riley Green, Lainey Wilson, Flatland Cavalry, and Brent Cobb serve as support on the North American tour dates, while special guests on the Australian and New Zealand dates include Cody Johnson and Lane Pittman.
