Maren Morris Reveals Why She’s Taking A Break From Touring After the DreamGirl Tour
“This is sort of my last tour for a bit…” Morris announced.

Maren Morris has been soaking up life on the road with her 6-year-old son, Hayes, by her side. But as he gears up to start kindergarten, the singer-songwriter says she’ll be stepping away from touring after wrapping her current DreamGirl Tour to enjoy this new chapter of motherhood while taking time to figure out what’s next for her creatively.
Her 2026 headline run launched on June 13 and will continue through August 15 when the 36-year-old singer/songwriter brings things to a close at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. In honor of her commemorating 10 years since the release of her debut record and kickstarting her music career, Morris combined the title of her sophomore album, GIRL, and her latest project, D R E A M S I C L E to create the name of this tour.
Throughout the run she has intentionally built a setlist that caters to both her new fans and the ones who have been listening since the very beginning to honor her entire journey up to this point. Morris also explained on the TODAY Show that she hand-picked most of the venues she wanted to play, including Red Rocks Amphitheater, where she will return on July 19 with the accompaniment of a symphony.
Even though Morris admits it has been so much fun having her son join her on the road this year, she has decided to take a step back after the final show to spend more time with Hayes and in the studio focusing on figuring out “what the f” is next.
“This is sort of my last tour for a bit, because I want to be able to free think more and be in the studio more, and just figure out what I want to say next,” she explained. “It’s been 10 years of touring, so no real time to stop and truly be creative unless I carve out the time.”
The “My Church” singer is already looking forward to having more time at home to soak up what she sees is the “most fun” age with her son yet.
“This has been a really beautiful season of life as a mother with him out on the road and him traveling with me…I just can’t imagine what he thinks of it. He can’t imagine anything different…”
Alongside the tour, Maren Morris revisited her debut album from 10 years ago with her special edition album, HERO: A Second Wind.
“10 years feels like a milestone. I think when you listen to something you made 10 years ago it’s like does this still hold up? Do I still feel the same way now? Would I write something differently? And it’s just nice it’s like a little yearbook but it was also the record that introduced me to the world. So I think giving it its birthday and its proper respect…I think a lot of life has been lived since then,” she noted.
The project is out now and fans can next catch Morris performing three dates across California, starting in Napa at the Uptown Theatre on July 11.
