Megan Moroney will ring in the holiday season on Tuesday evening with a performance of “All I Want for Christmas is a Cowboy” on CMA Country Christmas, closing out another wildly successful year of her career.
Before taking the stage, Moroney reflected on what it means to be part of a show that blends two things she loves most: country music and Christmas. “I’m so excited to be here for CMA Christmas. Christmas is my favorite holiday and CMAs are my favorite awards. So when you combine the two, I’m just happy to be here,” she said.

In addition to performing, Moroney also opened up about the personal holiday traditions that mean the most to her.
“I think my favorite Christmas tradition is Christmas Eve. My whole family and I, my dad makes us watch It’s a Wonderful Life, the black and white version, every single year, and he makes chocolate chip cookies. And then on Christmas Day we have a lobster,” she revealed.
On the show, Moroney will perform her fan-favorite original, “All I Want for Christmas is a Cowboy,” which arrived last holiday season on a surprise EP dubbed, Blue Christmas …duh.

This project included two original songs and the iconic holiday favorite “Blue Christmas,” made famous by the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll” – Elvis Presley.
“All I Want For Christmas is a Cowboy,” written by Moroney with frequent collaborators Ben Williams, Mackenzie Carpenter, and Micah Carpenter, was a standout on the EP. The track features Moroney sharing what’s on her Christmas wish list, and instead of hoping for a new phone, a new car, or even a puppy, she’s wishing for one thing only: a cowboy who’s completely devoted to her.
“Give me tall hot in a stetson/ Something I can unwrap like a present/ Put him in some new Luccheses/ Make him call me baby/ I swear I’ve been good all year/ Please Santa please/ All I want for Christmas is a cowboy/ Who only wants me,” she sings on the chorus.
Fans can catch Moroney’s performance, along with sets from Riley Green, Lady A, Little Big Town, Parker McCollum, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Susan Tedeschi, Derek Trucks, and BeBe Winans, plus appearances from co-hosts Jordan Davis and Lauren Daigle, during CMA Country Christmas, airing Tuesday, December 2 at 9/8c on ABC.
