Nothing’s going to stop Meghan Patrick from hitting the stage — not even the aftermath of a major storm.

Early Thursday morning, severe weather, including tornado warnings, lightning, thunder, and heavy rain, struck Middle Tennessee. The Tennessean reports that state and local officials have confirmed at least four fatalities due to the storms. With more bad weather on the way and many areas already flooded, residents like Patrick are now left to navigate what remains of the destruction.

The singer was all set to head to this weekend’s Tortuga Music Festival in Florida when a fallen tree and power lines blocked her path. Instead of giving up and canceling on her fans, she quickly found a way around the situation with a little help from her husband, fellow country singer Mitchell Tenpenny, and members of her team.

Patrick documented the events in a new video on social media, showcasing the destruction that prevented her from driving any further down the road. In the next clip, her heroes of the day are seen carrying her bags around the tree stump and into another car that came to pick her up.

She wrote, “POV: Nashville had crazy tornado storms last night taking down trees and power lines, and one of those trees is blocking the only road out…and you’re playing the Tortuga Pre-Party tonight in Florida and need to make it to the airport, so the best husband and best label radio rep come to the rescue.”

The Ontario-born, Nashville-based artist is seen following behind her other half, Tenpenny, who was not joining her on the rest of the journey but still made sure she was safe and had everything she needed before leaving their home for the weekend. After navigating around a hanging power line, she proudly confirmed, “mission accomplished, and no one got electrocuted.”

Despite the obstacles, Patrick prided herself and her rescuers for making sure that nothing was going to stand in her way from making it to the performance.

Her caption read, “And that’s on DEDICATION baby 😌 it’ll take more than a tornado, a fallen tree, and live power lines to stop me from getting to a show. See you at @tortugamusicfestival ☀️.”

Joining Ashland Craft On A Co-Headlining Tour

In addition to Tortuga, Meghan Patrick will join fellow singer/songwriter Ashland Craft for their upcoming co-headlining trek. The Rollin’ Stoned Tour will find these powerhouse artists making their way to six cities across the U.S., beginning in Grand Rapids, MI on April 10. They will wrap up the run in Louisville, Ky on April 19.

While the sunshine state will be clear and bright for the festival, Nashville is still recovering from the major flooding that caused school closures and vehicle stalls on Interstate 65, along with at least one accident on Interstate 40. The severe threat has passed for the moment, however Tennessee isn’t out of the woods yet as the storms are likely to continue over the next couple of days.
