Miranda Lambert and her “paw paw” Marion recently had the “best lunch date ever.”
On Monday afternoon (Oct. 17), the country superstar took to social media to share “Selfies with paw paw,” documenting their mid-day outing.
“He has the best stories and the best sense of humor. We were both laughing in pic 2 because he said “who is taking the picture ?” I said me…it’s a selfie 😂💙,” Lambert captioned the pair of photos.
The “Strange” singer went on to recall a precious memory she shared with her maternal grandfather at 8 years old.
“He bought me my first pair of cowgirl boots and my first cowboy hat when I was 8,” Lambert explained in the caption. ”Guess he knew back then I was gonna be a country girl forever. Love you so much Paw Paw Hughes (my mamas daddy). Best lunch date ever.”
The post comes just three days after Lambert celebrated her husband Brendan McLoughlin’s 31st birthday.
Lambert shared a series of photos to celebrate McLoughlin’s birthday, including a shirtless snapshot of her husband, a selfie of her and McLoughlin at PBR’s Nashville Stampede Days, as well as several others.
“Happy birthday to my 💙 @brendanjmcloughlin!” Lambert wrote. ”So happy to celebrate the man with the biggest heart and biggest smile. A lover of all things food, cooking, golf, animals , fitness, sunshine , home, adventure, travel, friends, family and me. I love you so much! #31 🎂🍝✈️🏌️♂️🐶☀️🌄”
Lambert recently made headlines when she joined Jason Aldean onstage in Nashville for a performance of their chart-topping duet, “Drowns The Whiskey.”
The Texas native is currently on a break from her Velvet Rodeo Las Vegas Residency at Zappos Theater, which kicked off on September 23, 2022.
Lambert’s latest single, “Strange,” continues to climb the charts at country radio. The ACM Triple Crown winner recently brought the song to life with a live music video that was filmed throughout her recent The Bandwagon Tour and her headlining set at Windy City Smokeout.
The song was co-written by Lambert, Luke Dick, and Natalie Hemby on Lambert’s Tennessee farm in 2020 during the midst of the pandemic shutdown when life felt, you guessed it – strange.
“Have a smoke, buy a round/ Get on a jetliner goin’ anywhere-bound/ Pick a string, sing the blues/ Dance a hole in your shoes/ Do anything to keep you sane/ ‘Cause times like these make me feel strange/ Times like these make me feel strange,” Lambert sings.
“The chorus, we wanted it to lift and sort of be an anthem, and not creepy in any way,” Lambert explained to Billboard. “Just like, ‘Have fun, get a drink, get out of here, go on vacation’ — whatever you got to do to stay sane through all this weirdness. I wanted it to be an anthem uniting people. The pandemic definitely was the strangest thing we’ve all been through, but that’s just a piece of it.”
“Strange” follows her single “If I Was A Cowboy,” both of which appear on her ninth studio album, Palomino.
The current CMA Entertainer of the Year nominee will return to the stage on November 12 for ATLive in Atlanta, Georgia.
The Velvet Rodeo returns to Las Vegas on November 26. Tickets are available HERE.
