Mitchell Tenpenny is turning heads with his just-released cover of Lewis Capaldi’s chart-topping hit, “Someone You Loved.”

After previewing the clip during an Instagram live session, Tenpenny released a studio version of the song on Friday (May 1) due to the overwhelming response from his fans.

“I’m grateful for fans who share their input and tell us what they want to hear,” the breakout country star shared. “We received such great feedback when we played part of this song a couple of weeks ago. Y’all asked for it!”

The cover puts Tenpenny’s signature husky vocals on full display and comes on the heels of the release of his new song, “Here,” which finds him embracing all that life has to offer.

Tenpenny is set to perform the track during #TenpennyTuesdays, live on Facebook and Instagram tomorrow (May 5). During the live session, Tenpenny will encourage his fans to participate in the “There’s Comfort in Giving” program, which Cracker Barrel Old Country Store®, Sony Music Nashville, and many of his labelmates have initiated to help donate meals to healthcare professionals in the HCA Healthcare system. For every $10.00 virtual gift card purchased online by May 12, 2020, the restaurant will donate up to 15,000 meals for the benefit of a hospital’s frontline workers. Tenpenny selected the healthcare workers at TriStar Health in Nashville to receive meals.
