Morgan Wallen Admits He Hasn’t Been In A Bar Since His 2024 Arrest At Chief’s

Morgan Wallen is speaking out about his headline-making ‘chair’ incident at Eric Church’s downtown Nashville bar, Chief’s, in April of 2024, admitting he hasn’t been inside a bar since.
The popular topic of conversation came up on a recent episode of Theo Von’s This Past Weekend podcast, where Wallen appeared as a special guest. Von asked Wallen whether his massive fame and popularity has reached a point where it feels too overwhelming, making it nearly impossible for him to go anywhere without being recognized.
To this, Wallen replied, “it’s still weird,” and noted, “there’s parts of that that I don’t like.” He went on to say that the most difficult part is always feeling “on edge” knowing that there are likely tons of eyes on him at all times.

“There’s things that you just don’t do anymore. You just don’t do ’em anymore. But that’s okay,” says Wallen. “That’s why I’ve taken up hunting so much, I think, because I can go be with my buddies. I’m in the middle of nowhere. I can be at ease. I can not stress out. You just find ways to supplement it, I think.”
Von then noted that bars, in particular, are probably “too much hassle” for Wallen to spend time in. He agreed that keeping his distance from the bar seen has been “the best thing for me.”
“If you’re using a bar as a specific example, that’s definitely the best thing for me. I ain’t been in a bar since the last time I was in a bar that everybody knows about.”
That fateful moment he’s referring to was in April of 2024 when he famously threw a chair off Eric Church’s establishment that reportedly landed near two Nashville police officers who were standing on the sidewalk below. He was arrested and charged with three counts of felony reckless endangerment and one count of disorderly conduct. Following his arrest, Wallen posted a $15,250 bond and was released the next morning.
Back in December, the “Love Somebody” singer pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor counts of reckless endangerment without a weapon during his in-person appearance at Tennessee’s Davidson County Circuit Court. This charge was reduced from the three Class E felonies he was originally charged with at the time of the arrest.
According to a statement from Wallen’s attorney, Worrick Robinson IV, Worrick Robinson Law, PLLC, following the court appearance, he entered a plea agreement with the Office of the District Attorney that requires him to spend seven days in a DUI education center and pay a $350 fine and court fees. He has also been put on supervised probation for two years. If Wallen is able to successfully complete his probation term, the charges will be eligible for dismissal and removal from his public record.
Wallen Says He Is Making An Effort To “Dig Deeper” On New Album

While keeping his actions in check, the country star is preparing to release his massive I’m The Problem album on May 16. While discussing the 37-song project, the Tennessee native revealed he attempted to “dig deeper” than ever before when writing these tracks and create music that reflects a more mature side to his artistry.
“For me, when I’m writing, you can kind of tell from the idea almost if the song is going to be similar or not. And that was something that was tougher for me because a lot of the things that were successful and that were easy in the past were just whiskey drinking, all that stuff. And I’ve kind of just almost explored every angle of that that’s possible…I tried to dig deeper, man.”
He went on to explain that in order to do this, he kept a core group of five or six writers around him who had a good sense of what he was aiming for on this project and helped him rule out the tracks that were too similar to what he’s already done in the past.
“I feel like it was harder. I had to work harder,” Wallen admitted.

The official track list has yet to be released and currently has the songs listed as “Track 2,” “Track 3,” “Track 4,” etc. However, he sent fans into a frenzy over the weekend when he revealed the titles of several tracks during his guest appearance on NBC’s Saturday Night Live.
While performing two new tracks – “I’m The Problem” and “Just In Case” – viewers noticed a retro television behind him that flashed a few of the unreleased titles including “2. I Got Better, 4. What I Want, 8. Skoal, Chevy, and Browning, 14. Where’d That Girl Go,” and more.
I’m The Problem will drop on the first day of Morgan Wallen’s inaugural, all-genre Sand In My Boots Festival, set to take place in Gulf Shores, Alabama from May 16-18. Wallen told Von that those in attendance will likely get to hear a few new songs of the album during his set at the festival.
Then, beginning June 20, Morgan Wallen will kick off his I’m The Problem Tour at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas. The 20-show run will include stops in Seattle, Washington; Foxborough, Massachusetts; Toronto, Ontario and more with a star-studded lineup of rotating special guests.
