Morgan Wallen ‘One Thing At A Time’ Debuts At No.1 On Billboard 200 With Over 500,000 Units
This is a history-making week for Wallen.

The numbers are in and Morgan Wallen’s just-released third studio album, One Thing At A Time, debuted at No.1 on the all-genre Billboard 200 albums chart with a whopping 501,000 U.S. equivalent album units, according to Luminate (via Billboard).
This is the largest week for any album so far in 2023 and the biggest debut since the release of Taylor Swift’s Midnights, which opened with 1.578 million equivalent album units in the fall of 2022.
Additionally, Wallen’s 36-track One Thing At A Time saw the largest opening week for a country album since Taylor Swift’s Red (Taylor’s Version) debuted with 604,500 for the week ending Nov. 18, 2021.
This Is His Second No.1 Album
According to a report by Billboard, 76% of One Thing At A Time’s debut week consumption came from streaming. The project earned the biggest streaming week ever for a country album with 498.28 million on-demand streams. It’s also the fifth-largest streaming week ever for any album from any genre.
One Thing At A Time showcases Wallen’s wide range of musical influences and combines his love for country, rock, and hip-hop.
“This record represents the last few years of my life, the highs and the lows,” Wallen previously shared in a statement. “It also brings together the musical influences that have shaped me as an artist – country, alternative and hip-hop.”
“Last Night”
The news of Wallen’s blockbuster week on the charts comes on the heels of his eighth No.1 single at country radio and as his fan-favorite track, “Last Night,” claimed the No.1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 and the Hot Country Songs chart (for the fifth week). This is Wallen’s first No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Billboard reports that it’s only the 20th song to ever top both charts and the first since Taylor Swift’s “All Too Well (Taylor’s Version) claimed the No.1 spot on both charts in Nov. of 2021.
Additionally, Wallen is the first solo male (unaccompanied by other artists) to claim the No.1 spot on both the Billboard Hot 100 and the Hot Country Songs chart since 1981 when Eddie Rabbitt’s “I Love a Rainy Night” topped both charts.
2023 Tour Launching Soon
After celebrating the release of One Thing At A Time with a record-breaking free concert for fans in Nashville, Tenn., Morgan Wallen is currently in New Zealand for the launch of the international leg of his highly anticipated One Night At A Time World Tour.
The superstar is set to play shows throughout New Zealand and Australia through March 25.
On April 14, Wallen will launch the U.S. leg of the trek with back-to-back shows at American Family Field in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
In total, the 63-show trek will visit 30 stadiums, plus arenas, amphitheaters and festivals to fans across four countries and two continents. The trek will feature support from ERNEST and Bailey Zimmerman on all dates. HARDY and Parker McCollum will also appear on select dates.
In an effort to give back to those in need, Wallen will donate $3 of every ticket sold on the U.S. dates to the More Than My Hometown Foundation. Established in 2021, the foundation benefits causes near and dear to the superstar’s heart, including organizations such as Greater Good Music, Children Are People, the Salvation Army, and the National Museum of African American Music.

Lauren Jo Black, a University of Central Florida graduate, has immersed herself in the world of country music for over 15 years. In 2008, she co-founded CountryMusicIsLove, eventually selling it to a major record label in 2015. Following the rebranding of the website to Sounds Like Nashville, Black served as Editor-in-Chief for two and a half years. Currently, she assumes the role of Editor-in-Chief at Country Now and oversees Country Now’s content and digital footprint. Her extensive experience also encompasses her previous role as a Country Music Expert Writer for Answers.com and her work being featured on Forbes.com. She’s been spotlighted among Country Aircheck’s Women of Influence and received the 2012 Rising Star Award from the University of Central Florida. Black also spent time in front of the camera as host of Country Now Live, which brought live music directly to fans in 2021 when the majority of concerts were halted due to the pandemic. During this time, she hosted 24 weeks of live concerts via Country Now Live on Twitch with special guests such as Lady A, Dierks Bentley, Jordan Davis, Brett Young, and Jon Pardi. Over the course of her career, she has had the privilege of conducting interviews with some of the industry’s most prominent stars, including Reba McEntire, Blake Shelton, Luke Combs, Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, Lainey Wilson, and many others. Lauren Jo Black is a longtime member of the Country Music Association and the Academy of Country Music.
