It’s official – Morgan Wallen is back in the studio working on his sophomore album.

The Tennesee native took to Instagram stories on Monday evening to check in with his fans and share a quick update about the progress of his much-anticipated new album, which will serve as the follow-up to 2018’s If I Know Me.

“In the studio working on my album,” Wallen shared in a video message. “I’m really excited. I hope you guys are gonna be excited too. I don’t have any date or anything like that yet for when it comes out, but I’m working hard.”

He went on to explain that the coronavirus pandemic delayed the recording process a bit.

“But, we’re here now, we’re working and trying to decide, as y’all know, what all I’m gonna put on there,” he said. “Keep giving me feedback and that kind of stuff from my posts.”

The singer, who just scored his third consecutive chart-topping single, closed his message with a promise to his fans.

“I miss ya’ll and I love y’all and I appreciate you letting me do this,” he shared. “I’m gonna try my best to make album two as good, if not better than, album one.”

More Than My Hometown,” the lead single from Wallen’s forthcoming project, is at radio now.
