This week, Nate Smith made his debut morning TV appearance on NBC’s TODAY with Hoda & Jenna, where he showcased his multi-week No. 1 hit, “World On Fire”

With flames blazing on screens in the background and bright orange spotlights warming up the set, Smith’s band revved up their electric guitars and drums before letting his country-rock vocals take the lead. Donning an all-black ensemble featuring a stylish leather jacket, the rising star gave the performance his all as he matched the high energy of the tune and felt every emotion of the heart-pounding narrative.

“You set my world on fire / Yeah, it’s all long gone / I’m watching flames get higher / And I can’t move on / I just gotta let it burn, burn, burn on down / Girl, without you it don’t turn, turn, turn around / You set my world on fire / You set my world on fire,” Smith delivers on the chorus.

To celebrate this milestone experience, Smith took to social media to share a carousel of behind-the-scenes photos with his team, hosts Hoda & Jenna and more.

His caption read, “Today was such an incredible moment for me in my career thus far. I can’t thank @thetodayshow for having us and being so welcoming!🔥😃”

“World On Fire” Marks Nate Smith’s Second Consecutive No. 1 Hit

Penned by Smith with Ashley Gorley, Lindsay Rimes, and Taylor Phillips, “World On Fire” has become a scorching hit for Smith since it was released in June of 2023. The song has racked up over 145 million global streams to date and has remained in the No. 1 spot on the country radio charts for the past four weeks.

This marks the second consecutive chart-topping single for Smith in just a year, following his Platinum-certified, multi-week No. 1 debut single “Whiskey On You.” According to a press release, only 19 songs went No. 1 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart in 2023, two of which belong to Smith.

“World On Fire” is also the second single off the California native’s self-titled debut album / deluxe version. Throughout the 26-track project, Smith can be heard conquering the effects of love, heartbreak, and the constant ups and downs of life. The collection features a slew of previously released fan favorites such as “Under My Skin,” “I Found You,” “Raised Up,” “Oil Spot,” “Better Boy,” and Smith’s platinum-certified No. 1 hit, “Whiskey On You.” His RIAA Gold-certified hits “Wreckage” and “Under My Skin” also appear on the stacked project.

Nate Smith (Deluxe) was dubbed the largest album debut from a new artist in 2023 and the largest full-length debut project from a new artist in 2020. Additionally, the album hit No. 6 on Billboard’s Country Albums Chart and No. 30 overall on the Billboard Top 200. With this latest set of feats, Smith now has over a billion total career streams worldwide.
