Noah Thompson has welcomed a new four-legged family member into his life. He took to Instagram on Thursday, May 18 to introduce his fans to his adorable puppy named Church.
The rising country star was seemingly inspired by his recent appearance on the Pupdate, where he fell in love with all the puppies that surrounded him.
His caption read, “This is your fault @countrynow y’all meet church.”
Aside from playing with the dogs during his visit to the Country Now studio in Nashville, TN, the Season 20 winner of Idol also teased that he had some new music in the works. In another recent social media post, he delivered an update when he announced that his debut EP titled, “Middle Of God Knows Where,” will be dropping June 9.
“I’m so excited to let y’all know I’m putting out my very first EP, ‘Middle Of God Knows Where’ June 9th,” he wrote with great anticipation. “You guys can Pre-save/Pre-add from the link in my bio it really means the world to me! Ya’ll have absolutely changed my life and I can’t thank you enough for it. New music coming soon!!”
Fans were quick to match his excitement for the upcoming project. One wrote, “Finally!!!!!!❤️🙌🙌🙌” while another said, “Wooo yeah can’t wait to hear it.”
He first opened up about the new project during a recent appearance on American Idol, following a performance with Idol runner-up, HunterGirl. Together, they sang a brand-new duet version of his debut single, “One Day Tonight.”
First, Thompson graced the stage on his own, and then HunterGirl joined him to help finish off the sentimental lyrics that find the singers dreaming of a future with their partners. They belted out the track in front of the excited audience as well as Idol judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry, and Lionel Richie.
“She wants a wedding in September/ Save up all winter/ Spend our summers in a fix ‘er upper in Denver/ She wants a girl and a boy/ And a old dog named Ole Roy Lord I hope this old boy can give her that life/ So go on girl/ Pour a glass of wine/ And dream aloud, talk about/ One day tonight,” they delivered in the chorus.
Since his time on the singing competition show, Thompson has continued to capture the hearts of country fans through his first set of music which includes “Make You Rich” and “One Day Tonight,” as well as his cover of Rihanna’s “Stay.”
Thompson has also been teasing another unreleased track titled, “She Gets It From Me.” Sharing a clip of the forthcoming song to social media, he tells his followers, “You guys have been asking for some new music and I just got this master back.”
In the clip, the 20-year-old Kentucky native is seen sitting in his car singing the below lyrics:
“Got that temper from her daddy / Her eyes from her momma / That tattoo on spring break down in Daytona / Gotta curve in her words / From growing up in Texas / Safe in her soul from that cross on her necklace / ohhhh if we’re going down that checklist / yeah, what I love best is / that stay out two lane ain’t a taste for good whiskey / laugh when it hurts and bad words when she’s tipsy / the hands she can hold in her life full of memories / Cause every wish, every kiss yeah she gets it from me / Day or night, rain or shine / yeah, she gets it from me.”
