Parmalee’s Scott Thomas And Wife Lexia Expecting First Baby [Exclusive]

Scott Thomas, drummer for multi-platinum country band Parmalee, and his wife, Lexia, are expecting their first baby! The couple spoke exclusively with Country Now to announce that they will welcome their very own “little drummer boy” in December.

When they first found out they would be welcoming a new member into their family, Lexia says she was hit with a wave of “so many emotions.”

“Obviously shock, but excitement, and it’s just kind of surreal. I’d say it’s still surreal until he actually gets here. It’s kind of hard to believe it’s happening, but we’re really excited,” she stated.

Scott recalled being on the road when his other half had a feeling she might be pregnant. She waited until he returned home so they could take the test together. After seeing the positive result, the couple took several more tests over the next few days just to make sure it was really true.

“It’s just so exciting,” Scott added.

After finding out together, the parents-to-be then shared the exciting news with a close circle of family and friends, including, of course, Scott’s Parmalee bandmates.

“We really shocked everyone, I think,” he admitted.

The couple hasn’t settled on a name just yet, but Scott revealed he is over the moon about getting to welcome another boy into the Thomas family. They finally shared the news with the world today, September 24, using a series of photos that are incredibly meaningful to both of them.

Instead of sticking to a traditional maternity shoot, the couple opted to post in front of some road cases in a backstage setup as a nod to their life on the road, while Lexia proudly showed off her growing baby bump. The photos feel especially fitting given their shared roots in the entertainment industry and the fact that their own love story began on the road in 2019, when Lexia was a part of the management team working closely with Parmalee.

“I kind of grew up in the music industry and my family has a background in it and same with Scott. He grew up around it with his dad being in a band, so we wanted to do something around the music industry and behind the scenes and just encompasses both of our lives. So that’s why we chose the warehouse, the road cases, our own feel. It just felt right for us. So yeah, I think it turned out really cool and exactly what we were wanting,” Lexia shared.

Another set of images features more traditional portraits against a simple white backdrop, putting the focus on the T-shirt Lexia is wearing. While it may look like just an ordinary graphic tee with an intricate white design on the chest, the shirt actually holds deep meaning for Scott, serving as a reminder of a pivotal moment in his life.

The shirt that dates back to a fundraiser held 16 years ago, when Scott was recovering from a traumatic event. Back in 2010, the singer/songwriter had just finished up a Parmalee show in South Carolina when he suddenly became a victim of an armed robbery that turned into a shootout. He was shot three times, airlifted to the hospital, given roughly a 5% chance of survival, spent 10 days in a coma, and weeks in the hospital. During that difficult time, their family, friends, fans and fellow musicians came together to raise money for his medical expenses and support the band, who was unable to tour at the time.

Lexia chose to wear that same shirt in their pregnancy announcement, creating a full-circle moment as the couple prepares to welcome a new life into the world with the very same support system that got Scott through a life-altering moment.

“All our friends and family went through that with us and fans at that time. And so I think having this baby just brings it back home and a lot of people are just so excited for us because of that,” Scott shared. “They see that I almost died and now we’re bringing in new life. So I think that has a big part of even our family and friends why everyone is so excited about this little baby.”

He continued, “That shirt specifically was a fundraiser that our best friends and bands and families did for me and the band to raise money for us during that hard time. So that was the design…that shirt means a lot to me and Lex just decided to wear it and it just actually turned out so cool.”

The news is especially exciting as the couple prepares to celebrate their six-year anniversary this October. After meeting on the road, Scott and Lexia quickly realized they had found something special and decided they wanted to spend their lives together. They exchanged vows in a spontaneous, intimate ceremony at A Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas on October 12, 2020.

After officially welcoming their baby boy into the world this December, the couple plan to bring their son on the road with Parmalee, and give him an “extraordinary life.”

“He’s very loved already and he’s very spoiled already,” Scott joked.

Lexia added, “Luckily with it being a family band, you have built in uncles on the road and cousins and babysitters. That’s another special element too…if he comes on the road, we got a lot of help out there and I’m really looking forward to that chapter. I think it will be really fun.”

This weekend, the couple will celebrate the first of two baby showers, with the first taking place in North Carolina alongside Scott’s family and the second planned for Nashville later this fall.

Meanwhile, Scott Thomas will continue hitting the road with Parmalee, with performances scheduled through February 2027. The band will take some time off between December and January, giving Scott and Lexia the opportunity to welcome their “little drummer boy” and enjoy the new chapter together as a family.
