Maren Morris and her husband, fellow singer/songwriter Ryan Hurd, are counting down the days until March when their baby boy is expected to arrive. As the couple prepares for parenthood, Morris is already thinking about what kind of parents she and her husband will be.

Already “mom and dad” to two dogs, Pancake and June, the “GIRL” singer says she has a pretty good idea of how things are going to work when their new addition makes his debut.

“I think that I am probably gonna be the rule-setter,” Morris recently told ABC Audio, “and Ryan’s gonna be the fun one that they go to, to hang out. I don’t know. I think I’m a little bit of both.”

“We have two dogs, so I feel like that’s our chemistry now,” she added. “So maybe that will transfer to a kid, a human kid. I have no idea.”

The soon-to-be mother admitted they likely won’t know how things will pan out until their little one arrives.

“The thing about being a new parent is you have no context of how you will be with your own,” she explained. “It’s different from like holding a friend’s baby or being around friends’ kids, because it’s not your ‘copy.’ So I don’t know. I’ll tell you in a year.”

Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd recently enjoyed a babymoon at Blackberry Farm, a luxury resort in East Tennessee. She showed off her growing baby bump in an Instagram post, writing “back at the farm.”
