Is Rascal Flatts teasing a reunion? Some fans think so!

The award-winning trio’s social media accounts have been relatively inactive for the past few years as lead singer Gary Levox previously revealed that guitarist Joe Don Rooney had quit the band and he and bassist Jay DeMarcus were pursuing other opportunities. Earlier this month, the band’s accounts suddenly became active again, and all signs are pointing to a possible reunion.

On September 3, the official Rascal Flatts Instagram shared a photo of the band on stage with the caption: “We’re feeling nostalgic…Share your favorite Rascal Flatts tour memories and tag us so we can see them 👀”

They later shared a gallery of fan-submitted photos, writing, “Well… you guys delivered!! What a trip down memory lane. Good times to say the least!”

Then, on Monday morning, they really sent fans into a frenzy after sharing a pair of live photos and a caption that encouraged fans to sign up for their email list.

“And they come from miles around, for that moment when the lights go out…,” they wrote, referencing the Rascal Flatts song “Here’s To You.” “Sign up for our email list at the 🔗 in our bio to be the first to know 😉”

Comments from excited fans flooded the post begging for more information.

“OH MY GOD ITS HAPPENING, EVERYBODY STAY CALM,” one user wrote, while another shared, “Anyone else tear up when they read this? Just me? I’m the only one? Cool, cool. 🥹😭”

One fan even declared, “I’m actually going to have a panic attack.”

Although nothing has been officially confirmed by the band, fans seem fully on board with the possibility of a Rascal Flatts reunion tour.

The band’s final tour was set to take place in 2020, however, COVID sidelined those plans and they were next rescheduled. Later, Rooney wound up arrested for a DUI and in the midst of a very public divorce.

In 2022, LeVox, who embarked on a solo career during the trio’s hiatus, told US Weekly that he and bandmates Rooney and Jay DeMarcus “haven’t had any conversations” about reviving their farewell tour.

“I don’t know what the future holds but, you know, for now I’m just having a blast and … I think Jay and Joe Don are doing their thing. So, we’ll see. Who knows?” he shared.

DeMarcus, who has spent his time launching a record label and touring with the band Generation Radio, also weighed in on a possible reunion during an Instagram Q&A with fans in 2023.

“Everybody’s wanting to know, again, we know you’re making records and playing with Generation Radio, but would you ever come back and do a Rascal Flatts tour if one were to happen?” DeMarcus explained, before adding, “The answer is, in a perfect world, they both exist together. I’ve never picked one over the other. I love doing both. Rascal Flatts is my baby with Joe Don [Rooney] and Gary [LeVox], we’ve built that from the ground up. It’ll always be a part of who I am and I live it. I breathe it.”

In the time since the band split, Rooney has been working hard on himself. He sought out treatment for alcohol and substance abuse and is now three years sober. He recently updated fans about this milestone.

“I’m grateful and my heart is so full of love and appreciation today,” he wrote in honor of his sober anniversary.

With his life back on track, the possibility of a Rascal Flatts reunion seems more plausible than ever. Fans will have to hold out for an official announcement from the band.
