Reba McEntire brings her latest single, “I Can’t,” to life in a stunning new music video.
The country music icon recently released the Dano Cerny-directed clip, featuring breathtaking Western landscapes and a group of dancers moving gracefully to the music.
In the video, McEntire performs the song in a desert setting, surrounded by vibrant colors. As the video continues, a storm brews, and rain begins to pour down, adding to the dramatic nature of the song and music video.

As listening strikes around her, the Oklahoma native sings, “So, let go the anchor, let go the chain/ Don’t reach for me and don’t call my name/ Shake off the past and, baby, just swim for the shore/ Blow me a kiss and hope for the best/ Wish what you will and take what you get/ Do what you want but I can’t save you no more, whoa.”
During the storm, flowers begin to pop up out of the ground, signifying new beginnings.
The powerful music video perfectly captures the anthem’s narrative of realizing it’s time to prioritize and heal oneself before helping others.
“I Can’t” was written by Tania Hancheroff, Tia Sillers, and Victoria Banks and released by McEntire earlier this year following a moving performance on NBC’s The Voice.
“I’m thrilled to have new music to share with my fans, and ‘I can’t’ wait to hear what they think about it,” Reba said at the time. “This is such a powerful song..”
Later, she took a break from her hosting duties at the 59th Academy of Country Music Awards to perform the song live during the worldwide broadcast on Prime Video.

“I Can’t” is slated to appear on Reba’s highly anticipated new album. A release date and further information surrounding the project have yet to be revealed.
Reba McEntire is showing no signs of slowing down. This fall, she’s returning to TV on not just one, but two shows on NBC. Beginning Monday, September 23, fans can tune in to The Voice to catch Reba back in the coach’s seat with Gwen Stefani, Snoop Dogg, and Michael Bublé. To celebrate the upcoming return of the show, the coaches recently teamed up to sing Four Tops’ “Reach Out I’ll Be There.” Check out this all-star performance below.
Then, starting October 18, the entertainment icon will star in the new sitcom, Happy’s Place. Reba also serves as an executive producer of the show, which co-stars Belissa Escobedo, Melissa Peterman, Pablo Castelblanco, and Tokala Black Elk. Reba’s longtime boyfriend, Rex Linn, is also set to appear in the show.
Starring in two shows is quite hectic, but there’s nothing Reba can’t do.

“Some days [the shoots] are overlapping,” she recently revealed to TV Insider. “But it’s so much better than two years ago when I was doing Big Sky in Albuquerque for ABC, and then flying to the East Coast for concerts on the weekend. This is a piece of cake.”
Last month, Reba and her Happy’s Place co-stars came together in California to promote the upcoming premiere.
