Reba McEntire’s Son Shelby Blackstock Reveals Baby Boy’s Name At Music-Themed Baby Shower

Reba McEntire’s family is one step closer to welcoming its newest member. The country icon’s son, Shelby Blackstock, and his wife, Marissa, recently celebrated their baby boy with a music-themed baby shower, where they also revealed the name they’ve chosen for their first child.

The couple shared photos from the celebration on social media, announcing that their son, set to arrive into the world in October, will be named Archer Blackstock. (Marissa later revealed his full name to be Shelby Archer Blackstock). They opted for a clever shower theme that leaned into the Blackstock family’s musical roots by transforming the event into Archer’s “Welcome to the World Tour,” complete with a slew of concert-inspired details.

First, was a marquee-style display reading, “Vinyl Vault Presents: Archer Blackstock,” announcing his expected fall arrival and promoting his fictional debut tour dubbed, the “Welcome to the World Tour.” The playful sign even featured a fake Rolling Stone review that claimed his upcoming arrival is poised to be “The Hottest New Release of the Year.”

Guests were also invited to sign a custom record plaque with congratulatory messages for the parents-to-be that said, “Archie Blackstock: A Star is Born.” Of course, McEntire, who will soon enter her grandma era made sure to leave her own heartfelt note that reads, “We’re gonna have so much fun!” and signed it, “Grandma Reba.”

Nearby, a glowing neon sign displaying Archer’s name sat above a table filled with guests, the plaque and an option for those joining the celebrations to contribute song suggestions for a special “Build a Baby Playlist.”

This is an especially exciting chapter for Shelby and Marissa to celebrate together, after suffering a pregnancy loss last December. This was understandably disheartening news for the couple as they trying to have a baby for three years, using a combination of natural methods, medicated cycles and in vitro fertilization (IVF). Now, they are just a few months away from finally welcoming their first child.

The lovebirds first met on the dating app Tinder in 2014 and began dating two years later. Their love only grew stronger and in 2022, they tied the knot in a ceremony held at Epcot and the Magic Kingdom, the same theme part where they would go on to announce their pregnancy in April of 2026.

They wrote, “Oh, BOY! We’re beyond excited to FINALLY announce our little man is coming in October. See ya real soon, pal! Mommy + Daddy love you! 🤟🏼”

Shelby is Reba McEntire’s only biological child and this will be her first biological grandchild. However, she also had a close relationship with her late stepson Brandon Blackstock, son of her ex-husband Narvel Blackstock.

Brandon passed away last August at age 48 following his battle with skin cancer. He is survived by his four children, including two kids that he shared with ex-wife Kelly Clarkson.

Following this devastation, Baby Archer will mark a joyful new chapter for the family.
