Roman Alexander is heading back to his roots on his upcoming EP, Midwest Calling. Today, the rising country act revealed the tracklist for the project that’s set to be released August 22 via Twelve6 Entertainment.

Throughout the six songs, Alexander delivers stories that offer a raw and honest reflection of small-town life, heartbreak, and the kind of memories that stick around long after the moment has passed. Fans can expect to hear his signature blend of emotional storytelling and smooth country soul front and center among his unmatched vocals.

Speaking on the upcoming collection, Alexander describes Midwest Calling as a project that “feels like home – not always in a comforting way, but in the most honest way.”

He steps back into his upbringing in Missouri to share bits and pieces of his life through these real-life stories told from the perspective of someone who can never quite shake their inner Midwesterner.

“I grew up in the Midwest, and these songs come from late nights and conversations you don’t forget. Some are about breakups that didn’t go the way you planned; others are about trying to make sense of life when it’s not all mapped out,” he shares. “The Midwest has a way of pulling you back, even when you think you’ve moved on. That’s what this EP is about – stories that keep calling you back.”

The project features contributions from a powerhouse lineup of Nashville writers, including GRAMMY nominees Jessi Alexander, Brad Tursi, Trevor Rosen, and Casey Brown, plus hitmakers John Morgan, Josh Kerr, and Will Bundy. Roman himself is credited on five of the six tracks, further cementing his talent not just as a vocalist, but as an established songwriter.

“Pour You A Drink” has quickly become a fan favorite, with its music video racking up nearly a quarter of a million views in just three weeks.

Reflecting on the song’s fast success, Alexander shares, ‘Pour You a Drink’ is one of those songs that came from real life, like most of mine. It’s about recognizing when someone deserves better and having the courage to say it out loud. Sometimes it’s simple: she wasn’t being treated right, and I had a barstool, a bottle, and the kind of attention he forgot to give her.”

Midwest Calling marks Roman’s third EP and continues building momentum for the breakout artist, whose catalog is already collectively earned almost 100 million global streams.
